**The Project and Portfolio Data Manager will be responsible for providing leadership and management of project portfolio data and associated tools as well as acting as a project manager for assigned projects.**:
**From a data management perspective this includes overseeing and optimizing the collection, organization, analysis, and reporting of project and portfolio data. Close collaboration with cross-functional teams, technical and marketing category managers, project managers, and senior leadership is required to ensure accurate and timely insights that drive informed decision-making. Responsibilities span data governance, quality assurance, reporting, process improvement, and the development of tools to facilitate data collection and analysis within the context of project and portfolio management.**:
**From a project management perspective this includes leading cross-functional teams through scope creation, development and final implementation**.**:
**Main Tasks**:
Data Collection and Integration:
- Design and implement efficient data collection processes to gather project-related information from various sources.- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure data collected is available to business platforms and tools, as needed.-
- Manage internal and external vendors as required and ensure good working relationships.
- Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Create and maintain standardized project and portfolio dashboards, reports, and metrics.- Generate insights from data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement to support strategic decision-making.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Work closely with marketing and technical category managers, project managers, and cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and ensure alignment with business objectives.- Collaborate with senior leadership to provide relevant data-driven insights and recommendations.
- Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities to streamline data collection, reporting, and analysis processes.- Develop and implement best practice to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of project portfolio data management.Training and Documentation:
- Develop training materials and conduct workshops to educate project stakeholders on data management processes, tool usage, and best practices.- Maintain documentation related to data management procedures, standards, and guidelines.
- Data Governance and Quality:
- Develop and enforce data governance polices, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and security.- Regularly perform data quality checks, resolve inconsistencies, and cleanse data as needed.
- Tools and Technology:- Recommend, develop, and implement tools that enhance data collection, integration, analysis, and reporting capabilities.
- Serves as a project manager himself/herself and provides project management services to assigned projects.- Leads and manages various concurrent projects within established scope, timeline and budget.- Drives cross-functional team through scope development, detailed project plan, risk and mitigation planning, resource plan and budget estimates.- Manages and conducts cross-functional project meetings and is responsible for quality meeting agenda’s, minutes, project tracking, analysis, and supporting project documentation utilizing company SharePoint site.- Provides accurate project status reports for required project data, ensuring a balanced view of all key stakeholder groups, as well as risk and opportunities.- Establishes partnership with key project business units: resource managers and stakeholders
**Education, Experience and Knowledge**:
- Bachelor of Computer Science, Data Science, Information Management, or related field.
- 5+ years’ experience in data management, business intelligence, or analytics, preferably in a project management or portfolio management context.
- Azure DevOps Automation & Backlog Management
- Azure User & Group Management (permissions & licenses)
- Power Platform & Automate
- 5+ years’ experience as a technical project manager overseeing concurrent projects.
- Strong understanding of project management concepts, methodologies, and tools.
- Experience with database management systems and data integration techniques.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with diverse global teams and convey complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders.
- Attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and integrity.
- Strong problem-solving skills and creative thinking to innovate data management processes and tools.
- Strong ability to lead and take ownership of assigned tasks and responsibilities, and appropriately prioritize.
