**Job Description: Mechanical Supervisor**

**Position**:Mechanical Supervisor

**Department**:Maintenance and Operations.

**Responsibilities**:

- **Supervise Maintenance Activities**:Lead and manage a team of mechanics and technicians in performing maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair tasks on heavy machinery, with a focus on excavators and generators.
Develop and implement effective maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and maximize equipment availability.
Ensure compliance with safety protocols and guidelines during all maintenance activities.
- **Equipment Troubleshooting and Diagnosis**:Utilize expertise to diagnose mechanical issues, malfunctions, and defects in heavy vehicles like excavators and generators.
Analyze equipment performance data and recommend corrective actions to optimize machinery efficiency.
Provide technical guidance and support to the team in troubleshooting complex mechanical problems.
- **Preventive Maintenance and Repair**:Plan and execute routine preventive maintenance tasks to ensure the longevity and reliability of heavy machinery.
Coordinate and supervise equipment repair activities, including engine overhauls, hydraulic system repairs, and electrical system troubleshooting.
Perform quality checks on completed repairs and maintenance to ensure work meets industry standards.
- **Team Leadership and Development**:Train and mentor mechanics and technicians to enhance their technical skills and knowledge of heavy equipment maintenance.
Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members, ensuring efficient workload distribution.
Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- **Documentation and Reporting**:Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities, including work orders, equipment histories, and parts inventory.
Generate reports on equipment performance, maintenance schedules, and repair costs for management review.

**Qualifications and Requirements**:

- High school diploma or equivalent; technical diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Supervisor or similar role, with expertise in heavy vehicle maintenance, especially excavators and generators.
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills with the ability to analyze complex mechanical issues.
- Proficiency in interpreting technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams.
- Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems in heavy machinery.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to effectively manage a team and prioritize tasks.
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality work standards.
- Relevant certifications in heavy equipment maintenance or repair are a plus.
