The Pharmacy Assistant (PA) works under the supervision of the pharmacist and plays an important role in assisting the pharmacist in managing the health division and providing selected pharmacy services such as Telepharmacy.

The PA’s responsibilities include administrative duties, merchandising and housekeeping of dispensary and health division. PA must provide excellent customer service and able to provide basic advice on health products.

**I) Dispensary Support**

1. Assist the pharmacist in dispensing Pharmacy only medication under the direct supervision of the pharmacist.

2. Dispense medication via Telepharmacy*.
- Proactively offer Telepharmacy service when pharmacist is not on duty.
- Ensure proper documentation of dispensing records, in compliance with HSA regulations.
- Perform regular checks to ensure Telepharmacy equipment(s) is functioning properly.
- PA must successfully complete the required training before he/she is able to provide this service.

3. Upgrade his/her professional knowledge through self-learning and attending relevant training and courses.

**II) Customer Service**

1. Provide excellent customer service. Serve customers attentively and ensure that their needs are well met.

2. Provide accurate advice on health-related products and refer to pharmacist when unsure.

3. Assist customers with special customer order (CSO) and refer customers to pharmacist if CSO is for P only and POM.

4. Stay up to date on advertising & promotion activities/mechanics and assist customers accordingly.

**III) Retail Operations**

1. Merchandise and good housekeeping of dispensary (including waterfall) and health division (Div A).
- Receive and replenish Dept 101 and Div A products using first in first out method (FEFO).
- Pre-packing of medications and label PLU for products with no barcode.
- Paste address & appropriate cautionary labelling on pharmacy only medications.
- Perform regular expiry check.
- Print product price tickets and update when there are promotions and price changes.
- Assist with Div A planogram change.
- Provide good house-keeping and upkeep the cleanliness and tidiness of dispensary and Div A.

2. Assist with goods return and exchange.

3. Assist with Inter Store Transfer (IST).

4. Assist with stock take preparation.

5. Able to execute theft prevention measures and vigilant of shoplifters.

6. Maintain good communication channel with all store and pharmacy staff especially on matters pertaining to roster, customer special order and stock issues.

- Those with Clinic Assistant experience are welcome
- Preferably has experience in retail, pharmacy and/or health supplement sector as retail assistant, pharmacy technician or promoter
- Friendly with passion for customer service
