Roles and Responsibilities
As an assistant curator, you would be helping us to tell stories to our young visitors about Singapore and the World through immersive thematic exhibitions. You will have the opportunity to engage a wide range of people from different walks of life and different countries, and work with practitioners and professionals from different industries to research and curate exciting age-appropriate exhibitions.

**Responsibilities**:
- Work closely with the CMSG curatorial team in conceptualising and developing storylines and themes for special exhibitions related to history, culture and heritage of Singapore and the World, and produce age-appropriate exhibition contents / storyboards
- Work closely with collections managers, conservators, designers and related parties to set up and project manage exhibitions
- Actively collaborate with other departments including digital, education, programming, marketing, philanthropy and procurement
- Contribute to the development of the museum’s curatorial and collecting strategies
- Involve in acquisition of new artefacts, handling collection and props, maintaining relationships with donors, and securing loans of collections from other institutions, community members, and collectors
- Ongoing research and publications, with active public engagement through talks, lectures, tours and other forms of engagement
**Requirements**:
- Background in History or related social sciences, with a strong interest and specialisation in Singapore history
- At least two years of relevant research or curatorial work in a museum or higher research institution
- Excellent research and writing abilities with proficiency in English. Written and conversational proficiency in other languages would be advantageous
- Excellent organisational, project management and inter-personal skills, able to work independently and in a team
- Adaptable and willing to experiment with new forms of curatorial approaches that are appropriate for our young visitors
