**Position Overview**:
Implements Wallem's policies and standards to ensure the Crewing function is effectively and efficiently performed.

**Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities**:

- Acts as the first point of contact with ship owners and manning agents on key operational Crewing issues and Crewing performance.
- Monitors crew costs budgets, expenses and costs and reports to owners as when required.
- Manages and controls seafarer’s employment to ensure that competent, experienced, trained, certificated and medically fit seafarers are recruited and retained.
- Reviews the sea staff manpower situation, including relief/rotation planning & recommends changes where required.
- Monitor requirements (retention, planning, documentation & training) to ensure that seafarers are relieved on time and at cost effective ports.
- Optimum utilization of crew management system - Compas for all crew related matters.
- Provides guidance, training and coaching to subordinates for their job performance.
- Understands and applies Wallem’s values into daily work to ensure client satisfaction.
- Any other duties and projects as may be assigned.

**Requirements**:

- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar position or 3 years working as a Fleet Personnel Supervisor or in a managerial position with a manning service provider
- Having a considerable knowledge of the shipping business with regards to administration of seafarers
- Competent knowledge of the requirements of the STCW (Standards of Training, Certification & Watchkeeping) convent
- Able to work independently and as a team player
- An effective communicator
- Computer literate with particular emphasis on MS Office and Outlook.
- Good with people (interpersonal skills) and well organized.
- Accountable, adaptable, attentive to detail,
- Able to use initiative (problem solving), to manage/resolve conflict, to exercise sound judgment, objective, resilient, to handle stress and culturally diverse.
- Salary will be commensurate with experience
