Due to our company's continued growth and expansion, we are now hiring the following position.

**Assistant Underwriter, Marine**

to join our growing team in Singapore office. In this position reporting to Underwriting Manager - Marine, you will have responsibility for contributing to grow the marine portfolio in ASEAN region. As a general insurance professional, you will have experience underwriting portfolio of business and contributing to a profitable portfolio by developing an understanding of underwriting principals and disciplines through discussions and research. You will assist in the growth objectives of the portfolio by identifying opportunities for growth in the region and assist with the development of the marine line of business pipeline.

Duties will include (but not limited to):

- Underwrite new and existing business within Underwriting Guidelines and given authority.
- Develop network with preferred partners and be on top of market developments and industry trends
- Building and marketing HDI Global SE Singapore‘s reputation in the given markets.
- Identify opportunities for growth through the existing portfolio and assist the Underwriting Manager with the development of the Line of Business pipelines.
- Work together with the team to implement HDI Global’s strategic measures.
- Provide solution based offerings and service to our clients and intermediaries.
- Communicate market information and cross sell opportunities with other Line of Business.
- Review policies, contract wording, placement slips, reinsurance certificates/agreements.

**Skills**:

- Minimum 2-3 years of relevant underwriting experience, preferably cargo
- High level of numeracy and computer literacy required;
- Strong MS Office skills;
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) demonstrated in current role and ability to show initiative and pro-activeness in the completion tasks.

**Qualifications**:

- University degree or equivalent further education.
- Insurance qualifications like ACII or close to completion or iMap Singapore program or equivalent

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $3,500.00 - $4,500.00 per month
