This position is responsible for international sales and marketing of PTFI’s copper cathode products from Manyar Refinery as well as providing marketing assistance when required on other Manyar smelter, Refinery, and Precious Metals products. The position will manage the PTFI Singapore Representative office and be responsible for staffing needs as required to meet overall PTFI sales plan objectives.
**_Additional Responsibilities:_**
- Represent PTFI as the principal marketing representative in the region outside Indonesia and be responsible for executing the copper sales plan in coordination and alignment with the sales and marketing goals of the company.
- Actively assists in planning, developing, and updating the company’s sales strategy and vision.
- Manage the Singapore Subsidiary office and be responsible for staffing needs.
- Provide marketing analysis and market feedback to PTFI management as appropriate.
- Manage budget for the Singapore Representative/Subsidiary office.
- Close cooperation with the Indonesian Manyar sales and sales execution teams. Interacts extensively with outside customers in various countries. This position will report to the Head of Sales and Marketing PTFI and work closely with the President of Freeport Sales Company (FSC), the SVP of Sales and Marketing FSC and the VP Cathode Sales FSC.
- This position requires excellent cross culture communication skills as the markets for our products are diverse. Travel is an expectation of the position to ensure the development of lasting material relationships with our customer base. Initial focus requires good entrepreneurial and marketing skills as we define key markets in the region. Collaboration across the organization is essential and embracing uncertainty is the norm as our company and product offerings adapt to the market demands. The position has a high degree of independence, working within broad defined goals.
- This is a new position with a high level of sales accountability. The position has a lot of external exposure due to the role of the office/position as the key representative of PTFI’s international sales network.
- High level of autonomy to work under broad objectives and sets priorities and timelines to meet these objectives.
- Perform other duties as required.
**Qualifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing or related field or other degrees combined with professional experience related to position responsibilities.
- At least fifteen (15) years of experience in metal mining marketing and sales including managing the sales processing activities.
- Experience in managing a sales office, department or similar with Human Resource, Administration, and P/L responsibilities.
- Commercial business systems (SAP or similar) leadership knowledge base.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work independently under minimum supervision and is a self-starter.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions; Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.
**Preferred Qualifications**
- Master’s degree in Business Administration or similar.
- Work experience overseas and interacting with different cultures.
- Logistics and Supply Chain experience.
