Global Legal plays an important role in protecting the Group’s reputation by helping to future-proof the organisation through robust legal risk and issue advisory. Responsible for providing comprehensive legal advice to senior management and all global businesses and functions, the team offers a diverse range of legal skills, jurisdictional experience and practice specialisms across all countries and territories in which our businesses operate.

We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a **Legal Change & Innovation - Global Programme Manager**

**Job Purpose**

The Legal Change & innovation team sits within the wider Legal Chief Operating Office (COO) and determines and executes the Legal Change agenda on behalf of the Legal department (the Legal priorities) and in line with firmwide priorities (Technology objectives, Real estate objectives etc). This includes:

- Define the scope and size / scale of the Legal Change priority - Legal Front Door
- Ensure requirements across the key business areas are gathered, represented and refelected to ensure that each build is robust, future proof and achievable
- Be the first point of contact to advise the business on the shape, size and approach of a programme in the initial stages of mobilisation and execution
- Ensure that the programme builds credibility through the effective and regular delivery of in-flight projects and future assignments to ensure a more widespread use of the team as primary execution owners
- Understanding current and emerging technology trends, internally and externally to maximise our ability to deliver strategically and with a future lens in mind
- Ensure that deliveries are executed effectively within the financial constraints of the programme.
- Developing strong partnerships with corporate technology to drive change
- Bringing enhanced transparency on execution progress to all stakeholders, empowering informed and appropriate decisions
- Proactively identifying & managing issues as they arise & de-risking as required
- Encouraging strong and consistent business sponsorship ethos
- Deploying an intelligent and progressive resourcing approach to ensure we have the best resource available (both internal or external) with the appropriate cost discipline being observed
- Identifying the right SMEs to fulfil the needs of the business both in terms of content and industry expertise where not internally available
- Regularly providing meaningful communications both internally and externally
- Building virtual teams, globally and networks of motivated, skilled and fungible change managers with purpose, desire and ability to add value and deliver effective change
- Relentlessly focus on delivery of business outcomes

**Programme Manager Key Roles**:
Programme Managers lead and manage large scale complex global strategic change programmes and business transformations with the business and delivery partners. They act as a role model, demonstrating active leadership and communication. As a senior leader they need to be able to operate at executive level, across regions and global businesses.

Programme Managers are responsible for deploying the Programme Management framework and other Business Transformation Frameworks within their programme and instilling good programme disciplines within their programme and the HSBC Group.

The role holder has end to end responsibility for all aspects of the programme, including definition, controlling, execution, change management and implementation. They are also responsible for effective handover to the business to support effective benefits realisation. They work closely with the Global Legal Program Office team to ensure alignment of their programme with the wider change portfolio and the Group Strategy, Values and Behaviours.

Alongside programme delivery responsibilities, the Programme Manager may have responsibility for a pool of Programme Managers, Project Managers and Project Managers (being responsible for people & resource management).

- Engages with stakeholders to create buy-in for the plan
- Plans effectively around delivery constraints and optimises the plan to maximise benefits and minimise risk.
- Actively manages and co-ordinates the programme plan/roadmap, handling changes as they arise and keeping stakeholders focused on the agreed change outcomes and benefits
