Telenor Procurement Company (TPC), established in 2017 and headquartered in Singapore, operates as a subsidiary of the Telenor Group. We deliver Global Category Management as a service to the Telenor Business Units, taking full responsibility for the end-to-end Sourcing process and performance of global spend categories. Functioning as one Global Procurement team across all Telenor markets, we enable Telenor’s strategic ambitions by becoming a centre of expertise in the pursuit of efficient operations. TPC seeks qualified procurement professionals that are comfortable working in a global setup in the fast-paced Telecom field.

**Role Overview**

The Area VP is part of the Global Procurement Management Team and holds the overall ownership of the Global Procurement deliveries in the sourcing area.

Area VP is overall responsible for the sourcing area and all the global categories within that area. Area VP leads the development and implementation of overall area strategy within Global Procurement and secures the anchoring needed for execution. Area VP manages overall performance for the sourcing area, including coordinating and leading cross-category initiatives, performance/people management and reaching set targets which is done in conjunction with the BUs CPO when applicable.

Main aim of the role is to ensure that the respective BUs achieves the maximum value in the respective area while maintaining the needed service level for the business function it supports.

**About the Role**:

- Lead the extended Global Area Team across TPC and BU with 5 direct reports on Director level with 14-18 people in line organization in Singapore and functional leadership of ~15 additional people in the global category teams
- Line manager for the TPC Category Directors, including accountability for individual performance
- Overall responsible for ISIT categories within Telenor Group
- Oversee development & execution of category strategies aligned with Telenor business strategy including anchoring with key stakeholders in Group and BUs
- Translate strategy developed into objectives and priorities for the category
- Conduct opportunity assessments and execution roadmaps designed to realize category strategies
- Manage overall performance for the ISIT categories, including coordinating and leading cross-category initiatives, performance/people management and reaching set targets
- Responsible for ensuring Telenor Group achieves best in class pricing and lowest TCO relative to the global size versus the competition
- Drive segmentation of key global vendors and develop relationship strategies
- Handle conflicts and disputes with the suppliers and stakeholders
- Orchestrate and coordinate engagement with key global vendors, hold executive relationship with key global vendors
- Implement and drive changes to engage others to initiate and embrace change in order to build on current strengths, move business initiatives forward and capitalize on new opportunities
- Own and chair the Category Boards for his/her area.
- Drive organization development and continuous improvement to ensure a high performing team
- Identify key internal and external stakeholders and build professional relationships
- Conduct internal and external analysis to develop category expertise, understand the overall supplier market development in the Area
- Challenge status quo and develop new ways of work to support the transformational journey
- Contribute to the development of Global Procurement into a true business partner
- Contribute to development of Global Procurement processes and WoW
- Lead, motivate and develop the complete global area team (driving global Employee Engagement Survey development)

**Profile**:

- Broad understanding of the telecom industry in general, and deep understanding of IT category specifically
- Strong ability to communicate and interact effectively (verbal, presentation, facilitation and listening modes of communication) across organizational and cultural boundaries, internal and external.
- Demonstrate commitment, maturity, flexibility and speed in response to business and challenges
- Strong commercial and negotiation skills
