**About Department and Purpose of the Position**
The Digital Pathology IT Specialist plays a pivotal role in the implementation, maintenance, and support of
digital pathology systems. He/she will be required to work with the department’s IT staff on related IT systems
in the department, ensuring day-to-day smooth operation. He/she will also be expected to coordinate with and
assist with the training of the lab supervisor and end-users during system implementations/upgrades and
handle general IT administrative responsibilities.
**Key Responsibilities**
Primary Responsibilities and Duties (80%)
- Managing and maintaining digital pathology systems, including hardware, software, and network infrastructure.
- Collaborating with pathologists, IT teams and vendors to ensure seamless integration and functionality of digital pathology solutions.
- Troubleshooting technical issues and providing timely support to resolve system malfunctions or user concerns.
- Implementing and overseeing data security measures to protect patient information and maintain regulatory compliance.
- Conduct regular system updates, upgrades and patches to ensure optimal performance and feature enhancements.
- Training pathologists, laboratory technologists and other users on the proper use of digital pathology tools and systems.
- Monitoring system performance, analyzing usage trends and providing recommendations for improvements.
- Maintain accurate documentation of the digital pathology IT lab workflow
- Participate/lead in the digital pathology project (e.g., requirement gathering, attend meetings, propose solution, vendor evaluation risk assessment etc.)
Secondary Responsibilities and Duties (20%)
- Collate clinical and management information for the department and hospital.
- Assist to ensure laboratory accreditation compliance
- Perform other assignments as delegated by Reporting Officer
**Key Requirements**
- Degree in Biomedical Science or related disciplines with 4 years related experience or Degree in IT with 2 years of related experience
- Good knowledge of laboratory operations and workflow
- Very good organisational and interpersonal skills
- Accuracy and meticulousness
- Good knowledge of data analysis and LAN environment
