**Department Overview**:
The editor will work on reports and press releases from all analytical sectors in the Asia-Pacific region, and will be expected to assist both regional and global editorial colleagues as time and workflow permit. Editors work closely with the desktop formatters, the ratings and media teams, and an offshore support team. They are expected to be able to adjust elementary formatting in research reports using Microsoft Word and Excel. They are also expected to publish research and press releases to the Fitch website in a final, approved state.

**Responsibilities**:

- Maintain quality standards by editing content of press and research reports
- Advise analysts on style and grammar
- Support the training of new joiners in the analytical groups
- Implement research quality-control procedures
- Liaise with analysts to ensure text and graphics are accurate
- Liaise regularly with formatting and ratings team members to support accuracy and style standards in the publishing process, especially of template rules

**Specific Responsibilities**:

- Edit research reports and press releases for content, grammar, style and structure, under deadline pressure
- Suggest ways to improve structure and grammar for both research and press releases, when required
- Develop a thorough understanding of regulatory requirements related to publishing content, and ensure these are applied
- Check final documents to ensure all information (text and graphics) is clear and accurate
- Ensure research documents are appropriately indexed and passed along to production or archived in the research database correctly
- Help to manage research reports through to completion, including consistency of fundamental ratings information on reports and in databases
- Publish research and press releases to Fitch platforms and external news wires

**Qualifications and Experience**:

- Minimum five years' financial editing experience, preferably in a financial news wire, bank or ratings environment
- Strong organisational skills
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Thoughtful influencing skills and strength of character; with the ability to work as part of a close-knit team as well as independently
- Able to handle multiple pieces of content and edit within tight deadlines
- Motivated and resilient
- Knowledge of financial markets, bond/equity markets and credit ratings industry
- Advanced Word and Excel

**Hours of work**:
The department operates across the Asia-Pacific time zone from Monday to Friday. Local Singapore hours would be 0900-1730. Working outside standard hours will sometimes be required as the workload demands. Shift changes and alternative start and end times for daily work will be at the discretion of the Managing Editor
