R&d Assistant

The R&D Assistant will work on Innovation projects for the personal care R&D team which is focused on designing and executing the innovation pipeline for Dettol and putting the consumer at heart in building and creating our ideas and formulas.
- Based within the Dettol Category R&D structure the role is positioned to execute technical aspects of the project
- The role is based out of Singapore within the global category R&D facility for Dettol Personal Care team
- The role reports to R&D Associate, Dettol Personal Care
- Handling lab trial and analysis independently
- Utilize formulation skills and technical expertise to develop new products, technologies, and benefits to address relevant consumer needs in support of brand initiatives
- Lead and advance multiple projects through the product development process
- Should be comfortable in leading feasibility trial at factory
- Work in formulation lab maintaining the safety and quality standard.
- Leading stability as per stability protocol
- Ability to Work cross-functionally and teams to achieve key milestones and objectives
- Execute clinical testing in support of new product and claims development
- Proven track record of successful delivery of technical projects in an FMCG company.
- Strong formulation expertise and understanding of raw material chemical interactions
- Experience with personal care technologies/ formulation (very desirable)
- Understanding of the chemistry of detergents and basic micro efficacy methodologies used to support product and utilize them for new claims development.
- Strong understanding of the product development process
- Work with outside suppliers/teams to help deliver pipeline needs.
- Supervise direct report with responsibility for ensuring their development if applicable

QUALIFICATIONS
- Educated to Masters/Degree level (Chemistry, pharmacy, chemical engineering or other relevant science)

EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 3-5 years R&D experience with a proven track record of delivery.
- Experience of working in cosmetic formulation environment is desirable.
- Strong technical background in personal care formulation and processing.
- Strong interpersonal skills and willingness to work in a cross functional environment including marketing, supply, procurement, regulatory, clinical and legal team
- Oral & written communication skills to effectively provide feedback to reporting manager and cross functional team members
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to think strategically, develop tactics and measurable implementation plans and able to transform solid thinking into action.
