IT Ops Intern

**JOB PURPOSE**:
To work with and support the IT Operations and Groupware teams, gaining hands-on experience in how an IT environment is maintained. You will assist with troubleshooting and contribute to projects focused on improving team and organizational efficiency.

**PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Participate in daily operational tasks and gain hands-on experience with real-world IT systems.
- Help with troubleshooting and assist in resolving IT issues under the guidance of senior team members.
- Observe and assist in interactions with organisation users, teams and external vendors.
- Learn about and support the implementation of IT standards and policies.
- Research new technologies/solutions for end-user support.
- Assist in analyzing end-user support logs to identify potential issues.
- Document procedures and solutions for future reference.
- Perform other learning-based tasks as assigned by the IT Ops and Groupware team leads.

**QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS**:

- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree/diploma in IT, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Able to commit to a 6 months internship duration (immediate preferred).
- Basic understanding of IT concepts and systems.
- Ability to gather and organize information effectively.
- Willingness to learn and solve problems.
- Team-oriented attitude and good interpersonal communication skills.
- Exposure to Google Workspace is a plus.
- Experience with helpdesk or IT support environments is a plus.
- **Coursework in the following areas is beneficial**:

- **Networking Fundamentals**: Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and basic network troubleshooting.
- **Operating Systems**: Familiarity with Windows and/or Linux operating systems.
- **System Administration**: Basic knowledge of user account management, software installation, and system monitoring.
- **Database Concepts**: Introduction to database management systems and SQL.
- **Cybersecurity Basics**: Awareness of common security threats and best practices.

Pay: $600.00 - $1,000.00 per month
