Laser Cladding Technician

Duties and Responsibilities:
This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. An employee may

perform other related duties as required to meet the ongoing needs of ACT.

1. Ability to perform manual and semi-automated welding.

2. Ability to produce aerospace quality welds and qualifications for aerospace specifications.

3. Must understand and comply with QA and ISO and other standards of process, quality, and

documentation.

4. Proficient in using various measurement tools.

5. Maintain good working knowledge of the welding characteristics of metals such as stainless

steel, aluminum, and titanium.

6. Perform preventative maintenance to ensure welding operations meet specifications and

oversee general maintenance and repair of equipment.

7. Ensure maintenance logs are completed properly and up to date.

8. Operate joining equipment for production welding and weld development along with related

tools, fixtures and set-up assembly of customer supplied components.

9. Support Quality Assurance with inspection of joined material and oversee quality in lab areas.

10. Assure collection of KPI data is accurate and at acceptable levels within assigned area.

11. Ensure ERES and lab organization standards are upheld.

Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

1. Technical school degree with a concentration in the technically related field is preferred.

2. 2- 4 years’ experience in the area of welding is preferred.

3. Basic knowledge in the area of machine shop equipment. CNC, laser welding or manufacturing

experience is a plus.

4. Solid knowledge of blueprint reading.

5. Must be able to work independently and have an aptitude for technical, hands-on work.

6. Must have an aptitude for following instructions and performing detail-oriented work.

7. Must be motivated, a creative problem solver, a team player and work calmly under pressure

8. Must be able to multi-task and consistently produce a high output.

9. Must pass a vision and color test (corrected vision is acceptable).
