Material Chemist

In this role, you will:

- Be part of a team to develop new reactive porous materials against chemical threats
- Design and synthesise reactive porous materials, characterise the materials with suitable equipment and theoretical methods and evaluate the performance of the materials experiment
- Provide operation support such as training for stakeholders in chemical defence and support testing of environmental samples

**Requirements**:

- PhD / Master’s / Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Chemistry / Chemistry / Materials Science and Engineering
- Experience in synthesis of metal organic frameworks and covalent organic frameworks, chemical characterisation techniques e.g. pXRD/XRD, BET, NMR, GC, LC and/or material science e.g. material synthesis, material engineering
- Strong research background in chemical synthesis
- Strong interest in the synthesis, characterisation, and evaluation of materials, including metal organic frameworks, porous polymer networks, covalent organic frameworks, and zeolites.
- Resourceful and with excellent problem-solving skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and able to collaborate effectively in teams
