**Job Description**:
We’re looking to add an Accounting Manager to our fast growing team in Singapore. This role will report to the Regional Controller and play an integral part in Shopify’s success by assisting in the execution of month, quarter and annual close process, key member of the annual financial audit, and more importantly providing a full spectrum of support for our regional Commercial and R&D teams so that they can focus on our merchants and make commerce better for everyone.

**Qualifications**:
You will need to have:

- BA degree in Accounting/Finance, preference of chartered accountants
- Experience in public accounting practice
- A passion for problem solving and a proven track record of developing new processes and solutions from scratch
- Ability to thrive in a fast-moving, ambiguous work environment and navigate through change
- Willingness to take ownership, get your hands dirty, and help out where needed
- Strong communication skills, written and verbal
- Commitment to meeting deadlines and working in high pressure situations
- ERP system experience is an asset, we currently use NetSuite
- Proficiency in written and verbal Mandarin is preferred
- Exposure to dynamic markets like India is preferred. Also experience in leading audit engagements in such markets will be a plus.
- Experience Managing a team is advantageous in this role.

You will be working on things like:

- Executing and leading the year end audit engagements for multiple international subsidiaries
- Lead the preparation of financial statements and disclosures, researching accounting guidance under various GAAP and IFRS variants
- Lead system and process improvements where needed to scale and grow
- Lead local subsidiary month end process, improving existing processes to increase accuracy and efficiency.
- Commercial team support, product team support including diligence and negotiations on country specific product releases, support in review and analysis of business case scenarios, due diligence on M&A opportunities and post purchase integrations.
