United World College South East Asia East Campus Sports Programme aims to discover and develop the potential in each and every student commensurate with age and ability in a wide range of activities.
**Main Responsibilities**
- Plan and deliver high-quality cricket coaching sessions for students across a range of age groups and abilities, focusing on skill development, tactical understanding, and game play.
- Lead school cricket teams in training and competitive fixtures, including inter-school leagues and tournaments, ensuring positive sporting values are upheld.
- Collaborate with staff and support the wider sports programme, contributing to seasonal planning, risk assessments, and equipment/resource management.
- Assess player development and provide regular feedback to students, parents, and the activities office as appropriate.
- Foster a positive and inclusive team environment that promotes teamwork, sportsmanship, and UWCSEA’s values of respect and responsibility.
- Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all students, adhering to safeguarding policies and supervising students effectively during sessions and competitions.
**Person Specifications**
- Certified cricket coaching qualification from a recognised national or international body (e.g. ICC Level 2 or higher, or equivalent).
- Valid First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain prior to employment).
- Safeguarding/child protection training (preferred or must be completed upon appointment).
- Minimum 3-5 years of coaching experience with youth players, ideally in an international school or club setting.
- Experience coaching both individual skills and team strategy, with a track record of improving performance and player engagement.
- Experience working in a multicultural, diverse school environment is an advantage.
- Strong technical knowledge of cricket, including contemporary coaching practices.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and mentor students.
- Organisational skills to manage multiple teams, fixtures, and training sessions effectively.
- Positive role model who demonstrates professionalism, reliability, and enthusiasm.
- Culturally sensitive and adaptable, with a commitment to the holistic development of students.
Advantageous:
- Experience in coaching girls’ and boys’ teams.
- Familiarity with school-based sports systems, including fixtures, logistics, and reporting.
- Ability to coach additional sports or contribute to the broader co-curricular programme.
- Willingness to travel for tournaments or weekend matches.
