**Job Description

**Job Purpose**:
BD Life Sciences Operations is seeking a highly motivated Facility Engineer to be part of blood culture media manufacturing operations. You are in-charge of security, facility engineering & maintenance to assure that all customer requirements for a safe and quality workplace, service response & operational continuity are met. You will also ensure that all associates adhere to security requirements & work in a safe manner.

**Responsibilities**:

- Responsible for ensuring the facility and its supporting utilities systems are functioning within the specification limits and/or regulatory requirement. Conduct investigation on all Out-of-specification cases, incident of non-conformance activities, and provide solution to resolve and prevent similar issues from reoccurrence.
- Perform checks on buildings and structures to ensure that all defects are identified and work with main contractor to resolve these defects timely.
- Supervise outsourced plant maintenance contractors and ensure that deliverables are met on time and provided with agreed quality and service standards.
- Establishes and maintains strong facility engineering support, not limited to maintenance, modifications, design, renovation & facility improvements, to the operations to effectively support Value stream goals and needs.
- Ensures all facility related work complies with safety, environmental & regulatory requirements.
- Ensures open and complete communication with internal customers.
- Initiates facility related programs or plans to improve on the operational environment so that potential problems could be avoided and business continuity assured.
- Participate in meetings as required to understand operational requirements, concerns and issues and works with the team or department to effectively resolve.
- Participate or drive continuous improvement initiatives/activities.
- Responsible for maintaining facilities equipment to meet all manufacturing schedules and requirements.
- Develop and implement corrective and preventative maintenance tasks and schedules.
- Maintain and/or improve shop practices when repairing or fabricating equipment.
- Plan new facility equipment and assembly equipment layouts, redesign existing facility equipment to improve mechanical performance, reduce cost, improve quality, and accommodate new products. Maintains site and equipment compliance with all applicable local, state, federal and national codes consistent with BD Corporate directives for cGMP, FDA and all related ISO procedures, documents and standards. Ensures all necessary licenses and permits are obtained and maintained.
- Responsible for installation, repair, modification, and maintenance activities on factory equipment with engineering, vendors and manufacturing personnel.
- Assist the Senior Facility Engineer in conducting approved cost reduction/capital improvement programs.
- Supports all safety programs and in conjunction with the Safety committee, develop acceptable safety programs for all projects under Safety's guidance.
- Involved in validation of cleanroom according to NMPA requirement.

**Our Requirements**:

- Degree in Engineering or Science related qualifications.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience working with facilities operations, building management, engineering, construction and regulatory compliance in a manufacturing environment preferably in the medical device and/or pharmaceutical industry.
- **Proficient in Design of Experiment (DOE), Minitab, analytical methodology, 5 WHY are required for this role.**:

- Hands-on experience and working knowledge of machine design, pneumatic, electrical and hydraulic principles. Practical knowledge of engineering standards and CAD practices.
- Knowledge of building design, construction and maintenance. Ability to design, plan, manage and successfully complete major construction projects within schedule and budget constraints.
- Knowledge of local and national codes and ordinances pertinent to EH&S, security, facilities planning, design, construction, and maintenance. Familiar with related regulatory environment and agency compliance requirements. Must have awareness of international, national and state codes associated with facility and process safety and efficacy.
- Experience in managing contractors and technicians.
