TikTok Live is the place for the TikTok community to experience culture together - live. TikTok Live enables people to find unfiltered variety, joy, and learning from anywhere in real time. We're excited about the possibilities of expanding TikTok from a platform to an ecosystem at the center of entertainment, the creator economy, and technology.

As a member of the Fund Safety team, you will be ensuring the safety of funds in livestreaming transactions. Intimately involved in the entire TikTok Live business, you will be designing and building tools and platforms to enhance TikTok Live revenue features and for campaigns to run in a risk-free environment.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Set up a new engineering team from scratch and support it on career development.
- Provide technical support for engineers in team.
- Align with product and org objectives, coordinate with cross functional teams on delivering key results.
- Define long term technical roadmap for team.
- Contribute to technical decisions on projects among the product.
- B. Sc or higher degree in Computer Science or related fields from accredited and reputable institutions.
- 5+ years experience developing highly scalable backend services and systems using at least one of Java/Golang/Python/Scala/C++.
- 2+ years on managing or tech-leading a software engineer team.
- Strong software programming capabilities, exhibits good code design and coding style.
- Deep understanding of data structure, algorithm design and analysis, networking, data security and highly scalable systems design.
- In depth knowledge of common databases and messaging frameworks like MySQL/Redis/Kafka etc.
- Experience in payment or transaction systems is a plus
- Agile, quick self learner, highly self-motivated with strong sense of product ownership and creative problem solver.
- Ability to lead independent research to solve complex technical problems.
- Empathetic and results oriented leader and mentor.
- Good collaborator and team player, comfortable working in a fast moving, culturally diverse and globally distributed team environment.
- Professional level proficiency in written and spoken English.
