Thales people architect solutions that enable two-thirds of planes to take off and land safely. Thales established its presence in Singapore in 1973 to support the expansion of aerospace-related activities in the Asia-Pacific region. Throughout the last four decades, the company grew from strength to strength and is today involved in the primary businesses of Aerospace (including Air Traffic Management), Defence & Security, Ground Transportation and Digital Identity & Security. Thales today employs over 2,100 people in Singapore across all its business areas.
**Responsibilities**:
- Design, code and maintain back-end system integrations on our Apache Camel-based middleware hosted on AWS.
- Design, code, and maintain back-end systems with frameworks like Spring Boot, Java EE and Hibernate in a micro-service environment.
- Work closely with the Product Owner to analyze infrastructural and technical requirements.
- Provide clear and timely reports on status of development, technical problems and other relevant details to internal stakeholders.
- Support technical discussions with the customer and third-party suppliers (Flight Planning System provider, Weather providers, etc.) during the implementation phase.
- Consistently meet established deadlines.
- Provide support and write/maintain technical documentation.
- Assist in troubleshooting incidents impacting customer operations and propose recovery actions.
- Participate in team retrospectives and document lessons learned
**Requirements**:
- Bachelor’s degree in field with minimum 3+ years experience or Master’s degree in field with 1+ years experience
- Agile methodologies like Scrum and Kanban.
- Java, Java EE, Camel, Spring.
- JBoss, Wildfly, Tomcat.
- TDD, jUnit, Hibernate, Quartz, FlyWay, Liquibase, Hazelcast.
- Swagger, OpenAPI, AsyncAPI.
- Experience with enterprise message brokers (RabbitMq, IBM MQ,).
- Experience designing and developing and deploying enterprise solutions with Amazon Web Services such as EC2, S3, Lambda,
- Exposure to the aviation industry or piloting are a plus
**Others**:
- A rotating schedule of 3 days work, 3 days off will be required.
- 12 Hour shifts starting from 8am to 8pm Singapore time, or 9am to 9pm during US daylight saving time.
- Physical Environment: Telework is applicable.
- Will require to work in office at least 3 days a week
- Domestic and/or international travel will be required to support customers on site. (level of travel varies and can be on short notice).
- 3 weeks training in Belgium to start
- Willing to travel 3 times a year for 1-2 weeks to Belgium to synchronize with a remote team
