**JOB SUMMARY**
The Epidemiology Study Coordinator in the National Public Health and Epidemiology Unit (NPHEU) is responsible for the execution of observational studies, implementation of surveillance systems, and support of other projects/programmes/collaborations involving infectious diseases of public health importance, in particular the SIDPIC (Severe Illness and Death from Possibly Infectious Causes) programme.
The Epidemiology Study Coordinator works within multidisciplinary teams of clinicians, scientists, medical statisticians, data/IT professionals and others, in collaboration with partners internal and external to NCID including government agencies, academic institutions, healthcare providers, private corporations, supranational and non-governmental organisations both locally and internationally.
**MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
**SPECIFIC**
- Under the supervision of the lead epidemiologist for SIDPIC, to coordinate and organise timely SIDPIC committee meetings, record and disseminate minutes of meetings, and ensure timely follow-up of recommendations and action items from meetings
- To similarly facilitate other regular meetings requested by the Chair of SIDPIC, e.g., weekly “checkpoint” meetings.
- Under the supervision of the lead epidemiologist for SIDPIC, and in collaboration with the NPHEU Administrative/Operations team, to serve as the single point-of-contact for SIDPIC committee members, site coordinators, and NPHEU for SIDPIC, as well as all initiatives and projects undertaken under the umbrella of SIDPIC
- To coordinate the timely compilation of the SIDPIC chapter for MOH’s communicable diseases surveillance annual reports
- To continually document, trouble-shoot and update SIDPIC-related work processes to improve efficiency, ensure effectiveness, and follow best practice in surveillance.
- To provide technical support to SIDPIC site coordinators, e.g., site user technical support.
- To provide orientation to SIDPIC work processes for new or re-assigned colleagues in NPHEU
- To collaborate with NPHEU Administrative/Operations colleagues in their performance of the administrative and budgetary secretariat functions for SIDPIC, e.g., quarterly checks of site KPIs and fund disbursement
- To provide similar support as for SIDPIC to observational studies, surveillance systems and other projects/programmes/collaborations involving infectious diseases of public health importance
**GENERAL**
- Support Quality Improvement and Risk Management activities of NPHEU
- Provide cross-coverage of colleagues as necessary
- Carry out any other duties as may be reasonably required by the Director (NPHEU) or the Executive Director (NCID)
- Comply with all requirements of NCID, TTSH, NHG, MOH for the proper access to and use of data and IT hardware and software to ensure integrity and safe storage of data as well as personal data protection under the PDPA.
- Work beyond routine work responsibilities and office hours during exigencies of services (e.g. during national outbreaks of infectious diseases).
- Undergo specific administrative or technical training necessary to accomplish individual and team tasks.
**JOB REQUIREMENTS**
EDUCATION
- Possess a diploma or degree, preferably in biomedical science, life science, nursing or any other health-related field
EXPERIENCE
- Past work experience in the healthcare sector, preferably in a hospital, highly desirable
- At least one year, but preferably three or more years of work experience.
- Strength in time-sensitive operational and administrative work
