**Key Responsibilities**:

- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives related to equipment and processes.
- Utilise root cause analysis techniques to investigate process and equipment issues and deliver robust and sustainable corrective and preventative actions
- Monitor, assess and document equipment performance to maintain ongoing qualification.
- Develop and maintain the basis of safety for process equipment. Ensure a safe working environment by following safety rules and being the safety champion within their process team
- Work closely with automation and maintenance departments to establish and maintain equipment performance, troubleshoot issues and drive continuous improvements.
- Investigate and implement novel techniques and technologies to enhance bioprocess efficiency and yield.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and achieve project goals.
- Oversee day-to-day laboratory operations, including equipment maintenance, reagent procurement, and inventory management.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Train and mentor junior staff members in laboratory techniques and best practices.
- Assist the reporting officer in preparing technical reports, presentations, and publications.
- Provide data analysis and interpretation to support decision-making and project progress tracking.
- Communicate project updates and findings effectively to internal stakeholders and external collaborators.

**Qualifications and professional requirements**:

- Master's, or Ph.D. degree in Bioprocess Engineering, Bioinformatics, Biotechnology, or a related field.
- Proven experience in bioprocess development, including fermentation, cell culture, and downstream processing techniques.
- Proficiency in bioprocess and bioinformatics tools (e.g., DOE, R, Python, CAD) for data analysis and visualization.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex biological data.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
- Prior experience in project management and technical report writing is desirable.
