Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience working with partners on overall relationship management, business development, or agreement making.
- Experience in the News, and with News partners’ business and issues.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience in the News sector within the APAC region.
- Ability to manage ambiguity, solve complex problems, and scale effectively across a large and highly distributed organization.
- Ability to clarify and communicate complex issues for an executive audience internally and externally with excellent written, spoken, and presentation skills.
- Distinctive problem-solving and analysis skills, combined with impeccable business acumen.
- High emotional intelligence that enables close working relationships with key leaders internally and externally.
- Ability to speak and write in English fluently.

The APAC News Partnerships team works to transform Google’s relationships with the news industry in the Asia Pacific region. Our team provides meaningful solutions from helping news organizations grow and transform their business and find new audiences, to helping our long-term partners anticipate and navigate change in a way that delivers economic and reputational value. We collaborate across Google, ensuring a coordinated approach when engaging with our most complex and strategic partners to grow our business and theirs, build trust, and deepen relationships.
In this role, you will manage relationships with news organizations, finding ways for them to reach new audiences and build new business streams via Google’s products in order to grow their businesses. You will educate news publishers about our products and resources with a keen pulse on the news ecosystem in your country, and Google’s role within it. From managing our partner’s daily needs, to introducing them to new opportunities for partnership, you will play a pivotal role in shaping Google’s News initiatives as we continue in pursuit of gathering the world's information for our users.
**Responsibilities**:
- Discuss and manage product implementations including Google News, Google News Showcase, Subscribe with Google and News on the Assistant, in collaboration with Product and Marketing teams.
- Maintain effective relationships with publishers and identify new opportunities to grow their audience and business through our platforms.
- Partner closely with Product and other cross-functional teams in order to manage and grow News product partnerships and manage escalations including Google News, Google News Showcase, News on Search and Discover, Subscribe with Google and News on the Assistant.
- Conceptualize, gather resources, and conduct regular outreach and training to large and small News publishers to represent Google and its products both one on one and at relevant industry events.
- Follow through on the progress the Google News Initiative (GNI) and executing on a deeper GNI presence as necessary.
