**Job Summary**: As the Head Data Scientist with expertise in Alternative Data and Machine Learning, you will lead a team of data scientists and analysts in developing innovative data-driven solutions using alternative data sources. You will be responsible for designing and implementing advanced machine learning models and algorithms to extract insights from non-traditional data sets. Your role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify business needs, develop data strategies, and provide actionable recommendations for decision-making.

**Responsibilities**:

- Leadership and Strategy:Lead a team of data scientists and analysts, providing guidance, mentoring, and fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
Develop a strategic vision for leveraging alternative data sources and machine learning techniques to solve complex business problems.
Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities for data-driven insights and develop strategies to harness the potential of alternative data.
- Alternative Data Analysis:Identify, evaluate, and integrate alternative data sources (such as social media, web scraping, sensor data, etc.) into existing data infrastructure.
Develop data preprocessing and feature engineering pipelines to transform raw alternative data into actionable insights.
- Machine Learning Model Development:Design and implement machine learning models, algorithms, and deep learning architectures to analyze alternative data and derive meaningful insights.
Optimize and fine-tune models for performance, accuracy, and scalability.
Conduct rigorous testing and validation of models to ensure robustness and reliability.
- Data Visualization and Communication:Communicate complex analytical concepts and findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders through clear visualizations, reports, and presentations.
Collaborate with business leaders to identify key performance indicators (KPIs) and develop dashboards to monitor and track data-driven insights.
- Research and Innovation:Stay updated with the latest advancements in alternative data sources, machine learning algorithms, and data science methodologies.
Identify opportunities for innovation and experimentation, driving the development of novel approaches to leverage alternative data for business insights.

Qualifications:

- Advanced degree (Ph.D. preferred) in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Strong experience in leading a team of data scientists or analysts.
- Extensive expertise in alternative data analysis, including data acquisition, cleaning, and feature engineering.
- Proven track record in developing and implementing machine learning models and algorithms, with a focus on alternative data.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or Scala.
- Deep understanding of statistical analysis, data mining, and predictive modeling techniques.
- Experience with deep learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch) and cloud-based machine learning platforms.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to derive actionable insights from complex data sets.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
