**Position Details**:

**Role : Veritas NetBackup Consultant**
**Position : Contract**
**Duration : 12 Months (Extendable OR Renewable)**
**Location : Singapore**
The consulting Services will be delivered by one (1) Subject matter expert (SME)
- The consultant will work five (5) days a week from 9am to 6pm, which includes one (01) hour of meal break. In case the consultant needs to work on a weekend for any critical activity then consultant will be entitled for Comp-off on weekdays.
- Consultant will be entitled for public holidays and personal time off (“PTO”) as per standard Veritas policies.
- For any long period of 3 days PTO, will require a replacement & coverage of the consultant.
1.1 Optimize Operations
- Advise and contribute to technical projects.
- Participate in the planning and execution of relevant deployments, patches or backup and recovery testing.
- Perform configuration and environment reviews.
- Assist with production planning to minimize risk to the operating environment and the applicable Veritas software products.
- Assist in the preparation of the Standard Operating Procedures (“SOP”) for the backup operations team to help them in their handling of day-to-day tasks.
- Assist in the planning and technical management of proactive engagements.
- Assist with planning and support of evaluations for new features and functionalities within the applicable Veritas software Products.
- Provide technical details and actively participate in the account-planning process and in quarterly business reviews to assess program status and strategic direction relative to the Customer’s business objectives.
1.2 Stabilize IT Infrastructure
- Diagnose technical issues encountered with the applicable Veritas software products.
- Monitor and manage escalated issues and serve as the single technical point of contact.
- Provide onsite or remote monitoring and incident response during non-routine activities.
- Provide informal knowledge transfer to the Customer’s staff who covers the management and maintenance of the applicable Veritas software products.
1.3 Expedited Response
- Provide advice on issues regarding patches and impact alerts for the applicable Veritas software products.
- Provide response or clarification for any support-related questions in the course of daily operations.
- Coordinate with Veritas technical support to resolve product issue escalations to ensure faster resolution and reduce unplanned downtime.
- Assist in troubleshooting and providing technical details for probable cause analysis of break/fix issues encountered.
1.4 Product Lifecycle Management
**Participate in the planning and execution of upgrades of the NetBackup and Veritas infrastructure as per the table above to a mutually agreed version between the customer. For the avoidance of doubt, such upgrades will be performed only if Veritas makes such version upgrade generally available to the customer under the terms and conditions of a valid maintenance/ support agreement maintained by the customer at that point of time.**
1.5 Provide one Security Assessment
- (1) on-site resident consultant to work with the customer to perform Vulnerabilities Assessment (“VA”),
- Penetration Test (“PT”)
1.6 Setup, Configure & Duplication
- 4 x NetBackup IT Analytics
- Duplicate the backup images to new 5260 Flex Appliances on all the environments.
- Testing and verification
1.7 Daily Tasks
1.7.1 Incident Response
- Consultant will start troubleshooting immediately upon notification of a failed backup job.
- Consultant will work on resolution for issues and ensure backups are re-run, scheduled jobs to complete within the day’s schedule. And work with customer’s team for user backups/scheduled backups. consultants will work as SME and if required will work with Veritas support/BCS.
1.7.2 Interaction with customer’s Operations Team
- The consultant will be involved in attending customer team meetings once every month as per plan to provide additional details from the NBU incident information.
1.7.3 New Backup Policy Configuration
- Consultant will share guidelines as per Veritas best practices to customer operation team for creation of new backup policies. Once the policies are created by Customer team, consultant will validate the same.
1.7.4 Standard Operating Procedure Documentation
- The consultant will be involved in preparation of Standard Operating Procedures (“SOP”) for the operations team in handling their day-to-day tasks, only if there is any change in the existing process. As a part of this SOP document the consultant will also assist in standardizing on the transport medium for client backups i.e., define criteria for LAN Backups, SAN Media server backups and SAN Client backups. The SOP document will also provide. Veritas’s recommendations on Naming Conventions for the NetBackup configuration, particularly with respect to Backup policies, schedules, Storage Units etc.
