**Project Title**:Leveraging leadership to sustain the dynamic professional development and identities of preschool teachers and beyond: The case for Knowledge Building Community (KBC) **[ **WDARF GA17-01 **]**

**Project Introduction**:
This research project focuses on fostering a knowledge building community (KBC) in a technology-mediated environment among pre-school educators to enhance the sustainability and impact of professional development efforts among pre-school teachers on their play pedagogy.

We aim to build a self-sustaining learning community among the preschool educators through this effort. Knowledge building is generally understood as a discursive activity focusing on idea
- improvement and intended to enhance collective understanding.

People in a KBC to work collaboratively, taking responsibility for learning what they need to know as they engage in deep discussions centred on real world problem.

This study will have two design phases:
**Creation Phase**: To create a prototype model of the practice (a Proof of Concept or PoC) in the Creation phase so as to establish the feasibility of the model, methods, and procedures of the KBC network for teachers.

**Scaling phase**: (1) to continue sustaining the KBC network after achieving the proof of concept from the first phase; (2) to integrate knowledge building into early childhood education course.

The research work involves:
design and collect data from teachers’ meeting and their practice systematically analyse teachers’ discourse, interviews and lesson enactment and artefacts. engage teachers on professional development network and workshops. design and develop pre-school course materials analyse and report research findings. development of Learning analytics for teachers’ development

**Requirements**:

- Possess at least Master’s degree and/or Bachelor’s degree with honours for the position of Research Associate
- Relevant experience in research
- Good knowledge of qualitative and quantitative software programmes
- Good communication, organization and writing skills
- Be a good team-player
- Proactive and able to work independently
- Good analytical skills
- Good problem-solving skills
- Computing and programming skills preferred

**Responsibilities**
- Conceptualisation, design and implementation of research project, and conduct school meetings
- Collect, organize, code and analyse both qualitative and quantitative data using multiple instruments
- Conduct literature scan
- Adapt research instruments
- Propose, design and implement appropriate research methodologies
- Involve development of learning analytics and technology (accordingly to expertise level)
- Write research reports, publication and presentation materials independently
- Other research tasks as assigned by the Principal Investigator (PI)
