Mechanical Engineer

The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, and optimization of mechanical systems, machinery, and tools in industrial plants across multiple countries in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region, including Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Taiwan, Japan, and Korea. This role requires supporting local teams, ensuring operational continuity, driving maintenance excellence, and supporting cross-regional projects to enhance plant performance, reliability, and safety.

Key Responsibilities:
**Team Coordination and Support**:

- Supervise and support mechanical maintenance teams across Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Taiwan, Japan, and Korea.
- Provide remote and on-site support, guiding local teams on best practices, troubleshooting, and maintenance techniques.
- Facilitate collaboration across teams in different countries to ensure effective communication and efficient operations.Assist with training sessions and workshops to enhance technical skills across regional team

**Standardization of Maintenance Practices**:

- Implement standardized maintenance procedures across all plants in the APAC region, ensuring uniformity in operations.
- Ensure maintenance strategies align with company-wide objectives, KPIs, and global best practices.
- Support local teams in adhering to global safety, compliance, and quality standards.

**Maintenance Strategy and Optimization**:

- Plan and execute preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance across the APAC plants.
- Monitor maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and increase machinery reliability across all plants.
- Identify regional opportunities for efficiency improvements and cost reductions in maintenance operations.
- Analyze plant performance data to drive continuous improvement initiatives and optimize machinery efficiency.

**Cross-Regional Troubleshooting and Support**:

- Provide expert guidance and troubleshooting support to local maintenance teams in the event of mechanical failures or emergencies.
- Travel to various APAC countries as needed to provide on-site support for critical mechanical issues or large-scale plant projects.
- Monitor plant performance across the region, identifying trends and potential issues before they lead to downtime.

**Project Support and Regional Coordination**:

- Support the execution of large-scale projects, including machinery upgrades, installations, and major repairs in the APAC plants.
- Coordinate with local teams, contractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
- Ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet the region’s specific needs and safety regulations.

**Health, Safety, and Compliance**:

- Ensure all maintenance operations comply with local health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Support safety audits and risk assessments across all APAC plants, ensuring teams are well-trained in safety protocols.
- Promote a culture of safety within all plants, ensuring maintenance practices follow industry-leading safety standards.

**Documentation,Reporting, and Regional Performance**:

- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all maintenance activities, repairs, inspections, and project updates across the region.
- Provide regular reports to senior management on maintenance team performance, plant uptime, and cost management.
- Track downtime, maintenance costs, and equipment performance metrics, providing insights for regional improvements.

**Vendor and Supplier Management**:

- Manage relationships with key suppliers, contractors, and external service providers across the APAC region.
- Negotiate contracts, monitor supplier performance, and ensure the timely delivery of high-quality parts and services.
- Evaluate regional vendors for cost-effectiveness, quality, and reliability.
