**Global Client Manager**
**What can you expect?**
Reporting to the Multinational Consulting Group Leader, the primary focus of this Client Manager is to work with other regional Client Managers, located outside of Asia, to identify and execute on opportunities within the Asia region to drive profitable revenue growth through sales while ensuring service excellence and client retention. Client Managers bring the best of Mercer as solution architects to establish solutions that reflect a clear understanding of client needs and priorities. The Client Manager is the value creator and trusted advisor for both clients and internal teams. Client Managers must be expert strategists, relying on a broad depth of content knowledge coupled with excellent facilitation skills and the ability to build trusting relationships.
The role requires a senior executive with strong, visible and reputable leadership in the firm with the ability to win new business. The Client Manager must be an expert strategist, relying on a broad depth of content knowledge coupled with excellent facilitation skills and the ability to build trusting relationships, both internally and externally. The Client Manager is a strong individual contributor, influencer and thought leader within the company, recommending and executing strategies and plans that have a direct impact on how the business performs.
**We will count on you to**:
Be a client expert
- Business - provide in-depth knowledge of industry, macro-environmental drivers (seismic shifts), competitive landscape, growth/business strategy, products/services, competitors, financials, KPIs
- Relationships - develop, maintain and grow executive leadership, business leadership, HR community, other key buyer relationships
- Workforce strategy - possess broad knowledge of the future of jobs, multigenerational workforce trends, org design, workforce design and architecture, and total rewards strategies
Be a Company expert
- Capabilities - develop comprehensive knowledge of business strategy and structure, Line of Business capabilities, solutions and companies (Mercer and broader Marsh McLennan businesses) - to enhance ability to align with client needs
- Network - develop and maintain strong, broad and global network of consultants to support selling and delivering client solutions
- Competitors - have a comprehensive understanding of the competitor field and their capabilities to highlight the Mercer/Marsh McLennan differentiation
Provide sales expertise (revenue driver view)
- Network developer - able to establish internal and external networks and channels to key buyers
- Disciplined - develops and maintains process rigor on developing leads, follow up, tracking activities and driving teams
- Expert negotiator - achieve suitable terms for services provided that reflect cost and value delivered. Willing to push for favorable outcomes
- Broad solutions knowledge and connector (content knowledge view)
- Problem solver - assess all situational facts, develop range of solutions across broad array of outcomes leveraging above expert views (Client, Mercer, Sales)
- Simplify complexity - reduce the highly complex into the simple and understandable; prioritize key issues/challenges in order to focus on those things that matter
- Creative - connect and support solution creation to unique problems and challenges
Own the Business (business operations view)
- Central Accountability - establish appropriate teams, client pursuit strategies, investments, risk strategies to grow profitable client revenue
- Financials - detailed knowledge of all client and business level financial metrics; primary financial management and accountability of client’s financial performance
- Client satisfaction - ensure quality standards, resolve business, financial, or operational issues
- Leadership - lead teams and drive high performance
- Decision making - facilitate discussion and dialogue with key stakeholders, obtain and assess all relevant information, able and willing to make hard decisions
Drive others’ success ahead of own success (mentor view)
- Mentor - develop colleagues’ knowledge and skills of all individuals on their client teams
- Coach - enable others on the team to succeed and play a lead role while standing in background
**What you need to have**:
- More than 15 years professional services and client industry experience, with a record of driving retention and growth directly with clients at the senior executive level
- Influencing and Persuading skills with the ability to drive activities and growth across various areas of the organization.
- Deep understanding of Mercer’s global solutions and client business climate, global mindset and cultural sensitivity as well as global governance skills, able to maintain oversight of large, multi-disciplinary and multi-geographic teams
