Director, Financial Reporting, Strategy and Risk Management

Telenor Asia in Singapore is set up as an ownership unit to oversee each of the four main operating companies (OpCos) in Malaysia, Thailand, Bangladesh and Pakistan. Telenor Asia is made up of Investment Management Teams responsible for oversight of each Opcos, and competency centres covering 1) Finance, 2) Governance & Sustainability; 3) People, Portfolio and Business Development; 4) External Relations.

We are now looking for a new colleague in the position **Director, Financial reporting, Strategy and Risk Management,**to join the Finance team in Telenor Asia.

The Asia Finance Team is responsible for developing and managing Telenor Asia’s strategy, targets and forecasts, financial controlling and evaluating Asia’s consolidated financial performance, local accounting and risk management. The team work closely with colleagues in management and stakeholders in Telenor Asia, Telenor Group and the Business Unit Finance teams.

In this role you will get a wide exposure to the Telenor’s Asian operations and the telecom industry in the region. You will be a key team member in driving Telenor Group’s financial and strategic ambitions in Asia and an act as advisor to the Telenor Asia Management and our nominated directors to the Business Unit Boards. You will be interacting with Management of the Telenor ASA and senior representatives of the company.

**As Director, Financial reporting, Strategy and Risk Management, you will have the following responsibilities**:

- Prepare and facilitate a multi-year value creating strategy for Telenor Asia including targets, periodic review and reporting on strategy execution.
- Monitor and independently evaluate the strategy, financial and business performance of Telenor Asia and provide advice to Telenor’s senior management on current and forward-looking development.
- Evaluate Telenor Asia’s financial performance, prepare and facilitate internal business reviews with Telenor ASA CFO.
- Coordinating activities towards key finance and controlling functions at Telenor Group HQ (Group Finance) and the Business unit Finance functions.
- Develop and facilitate forecasts for Telenor Asia
- Facilitate Asia Risk Management process in close collaboration with Investment Management teams.
- Proactively provide financial analysis and advice, initiate and facilitate discussions for Telenor Asia Management where advisory views are expected on a wider financial agenda beyond current performance, e.g., balance sheet optimization, P&L considerations, and risk.
- Identify initiatives to enhance business performance and strengthen value creation potential and long-term development of the companies in the portfolio.

**We are looking for you who can relate to some of the following**:

- Master's Degree in Finance, Business Administration or equivalent and minimum 5 years professional experience. Added advantage for experience in leadership role.
- Financial expertise, either with a controller, investment banking or private equity, management consulting or similar background.
- Strong understanding and experienced in building financial models for valuations and financial returns analysis.
- Telecom industry or operational telecom experience in relevant areas will be beneficial.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing - in English
- Strong networking, collaborative and interpersonal skills
- An international orientation. Local market “know-how” will be considered beneficial.
