Analyst, Esg Research Analyst

**Purpose of the Job**:

- The ESG Unit is a newly created within the Japanese Corporate Banking Division for Asia - Planning Department to focus on enhancing ESG and sustainable business with stakeholders (internal & external) across Asia & Oceania.
- Support a unit to differentiate MUFG’s positioning by providing proposition to all stakeholders with a fast evolving regional and market ESG landscape to drive growth for the ESG and sustainable business in Asia & Oceania.
- Responsible for providing sound and timely ESG and sustainable business proposition as well as relevant insight and focus on partnering with our clients to drive the ESG agenda and strategies.

**Strategic**
- Work with senior team member to develop ESG and sustainable business plan to align to the Banks's direction/vision.
- Keep track of the global and regional ESG landscape and responsible for the reginal knowledge sharing portal
- Maintain database for measuring department’s performance and business opportunities

**Financial**
- Support the senior team member to develop relevant banking opportunities to drive growth for the ESG and sustainable business.

**Customer**
- Build effective relationships with key customers to develop new business and to deliver extraordinary customer experiences.
- Anticipate as well as be sensitive to shifting customer expectations and guide the department to consider appropriate measures to ensure the Bank stays ahead of competitors.
- Develop and maintain strong stakeholder management with key stakeholders both with MUFG and externally.
- Maintain relationships with various external parties including but not limited to with the relevant authorities, legal counsel, accounting and tax firms to create ESG strategy
- Support senior team member to create senior management presentations, with ability to present content in a succinct and coherent manner.
- Work in partnership with colleagues in the region to share best practice and the latest developments in ESG across Asia & Oceania, deliver an integrated proposition to executive level customers and to develop new business opportunities.
- Work in partnership with Product Offices to seek product information to expand business opportunities.

**People**
- Be a team player and work towards the goals set for regional ESG business and adhere to all company policies / guidelines.
- Support team on complex business advisory issues.

**Other/ Control**
- Provide input into ESG materials for stakeholders prepared by the team.
- Provide materials for seminars prepared by the team.
- Make presentations with senior level customers, when required.
- Work in partnership with stakeholders, including but not limited to Relationship Managers and customers.
- Manage the risk profile of ESG factors.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and limits.
- Support departmental initiatives to deliver increase ESG business opportunities and deliver a high quality of proposition / service to customers.
- Maintain good working knowledge of industry trends, products, relevant laws and regulations.

**Job Requirements**:

- Minimum 3 years of working experience in corporate banking or corporate finance with regional coverage
- Background in project management
- Proficient in advanced excel (formulars / pivot table / VLookup)
- Proficient in Japanese language is added advantage
- Strong stakeholder management skills to collaborate with other departments
- Highly organized individual with team player spirit and good interpersonal and networking skills.
- Excellent communication skills with ability to prepare material to support senior team members using data or analysis to support line of reasoning
- Strong project management and analytical skills
- Fast learner with good understanding of regional/ global ESG development
- Good knowledge of corporate banking products and services.
- Degree qualified
