Are you looking for a new challenge in a fast-paced, innovative company? Come make history with Amazon’s legal department. Amazon’s Southeast Asia legal team is looking for a talented Compliance Specialist to help support our rapidly growing e-commerce business in Singapore and the region.
Key job responsibilities
We are looking for someone who can research import, product, content and safety regulations, advise the business, and develop and implement related compliance actions. This position requires in-depth legal research into a variety of complex regulations, and you will help implement processes and policies to effectuate the decision, which involves coordination across multiple teams and the use of proprietary, technological tools. As part of a lean and high-performing legal team, you may also be asked to undertake other forms of advisory, contract negotiation, and process improvement work. There is a significant project management component to this role.
You must have strong prior work experience, a collaborative attitude, and organizational skills. The ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, is essential. The role will require that you be self-motivated and will involve both independent and team work in a fast-paced environment that is constantly changing. You also need great judgment, a sense of humour, and a desire to learn and be curious.
This position is based in Singapore. Some international travel will be required.
- Prior work experience with a law firm, corporate legal department, or government agency.
- Outstanding legal and business judgment, drafting, negotiation, analytical, management and leadership skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to act as a business partner to senior management.
- Prior experience in engaging with regulatory agencies.
- International experience, particularly within Southeast Asia.
