Purpose of the Job

The role plays a critical role in crucial role in driving leading AET's sustainability initiatives, ensuring that environmental, social, and governance considerations are integrated into business strategies and operations. This role plays a critical function in driving sustainable practices, reducing environmental impact, and fostering positive social outcomes while simultaneously promoting long-term business success.

Key Accountabilities

Sustainability Concepts, Framework and Guidelines
Lead the formulation of the company’s long-term sustainability vision, mission, policies, and guidelines for the AET Group to promote awareness and governance to the requirements.
Develop the business case to address sustainability issues.
Lead and drive the formulation and execution of sustainability framework to ensure effective and consistent approach to support sustainable business growth.
Lead and drive the development of sustainability strategies and initiatives across the Group.
Lead the review of AET’s material sustainability matters that involve the engagement of internal and external stakeholders.
Lead, organise and coordinate AET’s development and annual review of its Sustainability Strategy against identified material sustainability matters, the Group’s business ambitions and external stakeholder expectations.
Review and track AET’s performance against the commitments and targets indicated in AET’s Sustainability Strategy for reporting to Management.
Sustainability Reporting
Lead, manage and develop the disclosure of AET’s annual sustainability performance to its stakeholders through AET Connects.
Ensure disclosure of sustainability performance is aligned to sustainability reporting standards and regulations (including but not limited to Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Standards, Integrated Reporting Framework, Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB), and Taskforce for Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD)).
Lead third-party assurance programme for AET’s sustainability reporting.
Liaise with relevant internal and external stakeholders to prepare appropriate disclosures including reports, summaries and statements related to sustainability matters (including responses to ad hoc stakeholder requests).
Undertake regular benchmarking exercises of AET’s sustainability disclosures against peers and best practices and recommend improvements to AET’s sustainability report and other external sustainability disclosures.
Identify, lead, and manage AET’s participation in relevant international benchmarks and ESG/sustainability rankings, ratings, and awards to bolster the company’s reputation.
Communication
Drive and foster sustainability culture through ongoing communications and education.
Lead and drive development of communication strategies to publicize the company’s sustainability efforts and promote awareness on sustainability initiatives.
Champion and lead the engagement sessions with key stakeholders to support the sustainability processes and initiatives.
Lead and plan the reporting of AET sustainability performance to the stakeholders through the production of Annual/ Sustainability Report. Ensure disclosure of sustainability performance is aligned to sustainability reporting guidelines (i.e. Global Reporting Initiative (GRI)).
Carbon Footprint Assessment, Emissions Inventory and Carbon Reporting
Calculating the total amount of greenhouse gases emitted directly and indirectly by an organization.
Developing a detailed inventory of GHG emissions by identifying emission sources, collecting data on energy use and other relevant activities, and quantifying emissions using emission factors or other calculation methods.
Communicating carbon emissions data transparently through annual sustainability reports, carbon disclosure platforms, or other reporting mechanisms.
Establishing ambitious targets for reducing carbon emissions based on the AET’s carbon footprint and sustainability goals.
Develop carbon offset strategy.

**Qualifications**:
**Education**: Bachelor’s degree in business studies / environmental management / sustainability or equivalent. Masters’ degree in a related field is an added advantage.
**Experience**: 12 to 15 years of relevant working experience in sustainability / environment-related roles. At least 5 years of hands-on and/or advisory working experience in the development and implementation of sustainability strategy and initiatives at the corporate level; Well versed in sustainability matters including but not limited to climate change, human rights, governance, stakeholder engagement, biodiversity, social responsibility, etc.
**Specialized knowledge**: Proficiency in sustainability reporting frameworks (e.g., GRI, SASB, TCFD); carbon measurement and management
