Minimum qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, statistics, economics, a related quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of experience in data analysis working with databases and querying (e.g., structured query language, Python, etc.).
- Experience with relaying communications between technical and non-technical teams.

Preferred qualifications:

- Experience with data analysis, scripting languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, etc.), and statistical analysis/machine learning.
- Experience working cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Sales, and other teams.
- Experience with fraud detection and investigations.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize projects.
- Excellent project-management skills

**About the job**:
Trust & Safety team members are tasked with identifying and taking on the biggest problems that challenge the safety and integrity of our products. They use technical know-how, excellent problem-solving skills, user insights, and proactive communication to protect users and our partners from abuse across Google products like Search, Maps, Gmail, and Google Ads. On this team, you're a big-picture thinker and strategic team-player with a passion for doing what’s right. You work globally and cross-functionally with Google engineers and product managers to identify and fight abuse and fraud cases at Google speed - with urgency. And you take pride in knowing that every day you are working hard to promote trust in Google and ensuring the highest levels of user safety.

In Trust and Safety, we protect Google’s users, prevent abuse, and ensure we are a trusted source of information, interactions, and content. We defend Google's integrity by fighting spam and fraud/abuse, and develop, communicate, and enforce product policies. As a Data Analyst, you will collaborate with Engineering, Legal, Public Policy, and Sales teams to set policies and oppose fraud and abuse.

A diverse team of Analysts, Policy Specialists, Engineers, and Program Managers, we work to reduce risk and fight abuse across all of Google’s products, protecting our users, advertisers, and publishers across the globe in over 40 languages.

**Responsibilities**:

- Partner with cross-functional teams such as Engineering, Sales, and Legal to drive projects that increase users' safety and provide a better online experience through Google Ads.
- Conduct queries/analyses, build visual models, and construct presentations on abuse trends to aid in fraud prevention and influence change in existing abuse detection systems.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Product teams to create and enhance tools, develop signals, system functionality, and robust reporting framework.
- Conduct investigations to catch fraudsters, enforce product policies, learn spam patterns/trends, and identify product vulnerabilities.
- Provide coverage for issues and escalations from internal and external parties.
