Five Iron Golf (5i) is the country's biggest indoor golf company with three locations in New York City and locations in Chicago, Baltimore, Las Vegas, DC, Pittsburgh and Philadelphia.
5i is not your traditional country club. We aspire to establish a casual, relaxed environment for golfers and non-golfers alike. We are a fun and growing company with an urban vibe. We offer indoor golf simulation, lessons, golf fittings, and food and beverage service.
As we expand, we are looking for team-oriented employees who help continue our most important tradition; providing outstanding customer service.
**We are seeking Golf Instructors** to help provide the best lesson experience possible.
**About 5i Instructors**:We pride ourselves on being a fun and non-intimidating introduction to golf. We are happy to host raw beginners on one simulator, and experienced, competitive golfers right beside them. It is a great place to relax, have a drink, and have fun, while also improving your game with the use of realistic Full Swing and Trackman technology and expert teachers.
Responsibilities include the following:
- Host Events
- Five Iron Golf hosts countless events ranging from small birthday parties to full floor corporate end of year celebrations. We provide at least one Golf Associate per event to ensure the customers have a hands on, personalized experience with our simulators and space._
Be familiar with basic golf swing terminology and the ability to speak to some simple swing and set-up fundamentals.
Be familiar with golf simulator data outputs and ability to help guests understand them (Ie. Distance, Carry, Club Head Speed, Club Face, Club Path).
- Work with other staff members (Event Coordinators/Roamers) to identify needs of the group and deliver on them.
- Educate and promote Five Iron’s other products/services to event guests (i.e membership, leagues, lessons).
- Roam
- Ensure the customers are enjoying their golf experience
- Conduct basic simulator maintenance and troubleshooting
- Assist guests in understanding and enjoying our game - including the safety rules
- Take food and drink orders and serve to customers in a timely manner
- Help with Golf Clubs and equipment
- Bus the area routinely
**Required Qualifications**:
- Sound understanding of numerous golf swing teaching methodologies
- Understand ball flight laws, be well versed in Launch Monitor nomenclature, and be tech savvy
- Good social skills and working well in group scenarios, facilitating groups to have fun
- Able to speak at a high level about the golf swing to a wide variety of skill levels without being confusing
