Bioinformatics Scientist/engineer

**Role Overview**
We are seeking a highly driven **Bioinformatics Scientist / Engineer** to join our team. This role bridges applied bioinformatics, molecular genomics, and molecular diagnostics, with real-world impact on food safety and consumer trust.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Analyse microbial genomes, identify clusters/patterns and unique DNA sequences.
- Develop qPCR result validation frameworks according to ISO standards for data QC, confidence scoring, and trend monitoring.
- Interpret molecular results and develop bioinformatics pipelines.
- Integrate detection outputs onto Natural Trace’s digital platform.
- Participate in shaping and deployment of Natural Trace’s digital platform capabilities to customers.
**Qualifications**
- Minimally Bachelor’s in Bioinformatics or related disciplines.
- 3 - 5 years’ experience in biotech or foodtech.
- Proficiency in using AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot) for code generation, data analysis, and problem-solving, with an understanding of responsible and efficient AI use in a scientific context
- Strong Python programming skills are essential; experience with R and/or other programming languages a plus but not required.
- Detail-oriented with strong scientific documentation practices.
- Creative, highly motivated and be able to work independently, with good verbal and interpersonal skills.
