**About the role**

As a Barista at The Great Room (“TGR”), you will be responsible for managing the cafe at TGR and ensuring that members receive their food and beverage in a timely manner.

A successful Barista will be responsible for delivering a strong community spirit through operational excellence and great Members experience.

The Barista will report to the Centre Manager.

**What you’ll do**

Ensure Operational Efficiency
- Manage the cafe and all orders coming through the Digital Concierge/POS System
- Encourage participation and use of our members’ platform and network portal
- Ensure a warm welcome and fond farewell for all members and visitors to the office

Barista responsibility
- Support the Centre Manager to develop best practices and process improvement to benefit service efficiency and members’ experience
- Develop strong rapports with members, and proactively gather company details and members’ preferences to enhance service delivery and sales experience
- Prepare and serve hot and cold drinks such as coffee, tea, artisan and specialty beverages to the member/guests
- Clean and sanitise work areas, utensils and equipment
- Develop a sense of ownership of the premise to ensure a clean seating arrangement
- Describe menu items and suggest products to customers
- Receive and process payment via POS system
- Maintain necessary equipments (e.g freezers, refrigerators, toaster or microwave) to ensure proper functioning
- Provide customers with product details, such as coffee blend or preparation descriptions
- Work with our selected F&B vendors to ensure our inventory are catered to in a timely manner

Play a part in creating the Community
- Research and identify the needs of prospective and existing members, and develop a menu to meet their preferences
- Ensure all follow-up and communications are responded to professionally and within the timeframe given as per company standards
- Prepare monthly overviews of research and development menus as part of the business plan
- Assist in the weekly Monday Breakfast Club event at the location you are based in

Be the Supportive Office Expert
- Ensure the office is maintained in a clean and defect free condition at all times, by conducting daily walkthroughs of the office to identify areas for improvement and maintenance

**Who you are**

**Requirements**:

- Have the WSQ Basic Food Hygiene certification
- With minimum of 2 years of experience in the F&B industry
- Proven object handling, prospecting and negotiation skills
- Great organisational skills with the ability to multitask
- Have a high standard of hospitality and service standard
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Qualities
- Able to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Have strong organisational and planning skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills; confident interacting with vendors, speakers and cross-company teams at all different levels of seniority
- Self-starter with a good attitude towards learning
