Our Financial Actuaries are on the frontlines, quantifying risk, pricing insurance and reserving losses for AIG’s major regulated and rated insurance operating companies globally. Portfolio Analytics and Pricing Actuaries support AIG’s businesses and are responsible for technical pricing, product development analytics and performance measurement. They collaborate with Marketing, Operations and Financial Management.

About the role

What you need to know:
The Individual Personal Insurance Senior Actuarial Analyst for Singapore will provide the actuarial support to the Auto and Property product towers, providing pricing analysis and granular performance monitoring. This position will be responsible for assessment of pricing adequacy, product design and company strategies using Actuarial expertise, for the purpose of ensuring company financial strength, regulatory compliance and meeting profit objectives. Responsibilities include:

- Perform rate review analysis (rate level indications and segmentation analysis) for Auto and Property products as per agreed schedule
- Enhance the current rate review procedures and develop pricing sophistication
- Assist the development of rate action plans by identifying preferred/questionable segments and implement appropriate changes
- Carry out pricing for new products
- Assist underwriters in fleet account pricing
- Provide loss ratio projections in the budget process and review other budget assumptions for reasonableness
- Ensure budget loss ratio is achieved
- Respond to all requests for actuarial analysis of all aspects of Auto and Property book

What we’re looking for:

- Minimum 5 years of general insurance actuarial experience with Bachelor Degree in quantitative discipline such as Actuarial Science, Statistics, Mathematics or Finance.
- Minimum of 4 actuarial exams from an international recognized actuarial organization and pursuing fellowship designation.
- Capable of data management. Experience with SQL, SAS and predictive modelling a plus.
- Self-starter, ability to discover problems and implement solutions. Excellent analytical and reasoning skills in interpretation of numbers. A strong sense of teamwork and ability to promote cooperation.
