In this role, you will provide consultancy and psychological services for the Community Deputyship Application Programme (CDAP) through conducting mental capacity assessment for adults with special needs and seniors who have lost mental capacity completely or partially. You will also support the Life Point team in promoting, encouraging and supporting seniors in early planning on End-of-Life (EOL) matters. Lastly, you will perform outreach to individuals or organisations who may benefit from the centre’s programmes or services.
This is a part-time position.
**Responsibilities
1. CDAP Work
- Liaise with community partners to promote the programme to the general public
- Conduct public educational talks to promote awareness on the programme
- Conduct mental capacity assessments and prepare reports for eligible clients
- Discuss the MCA report with the supervisor for review
- Submit the reviewed and finalized MCA report to the case worker to follow up with the client
- To assist with documenting and evaluating programme progress, and to provide relevant information for progress reports, as required
- Collaborate with other agencies or organisations in planning & implementation of programmes
2. Build stakeholder relationships or capacity
- Provide Establish rapport and build professional relationships with clients and stakeholders (e.g. family, caregivers, community support groups, government agencies, etc.)
- Network with other organizations or agencies and tap on community resources to provide effective support to the client
- Use different modes of engagement for the purpose of assessment, intervention and monitoring
- Provide evidence-based input for programme or policy improvement
3. Uplift professional practice in psychology
- Provide professional consultation services at inter-disciplinary case review meetings
4. Self-development
- Attend CPH/SSA endorsed training/workshops/seminars so as to develop relevant knowledge and skills
- Receive supervision from CPH supervisor as part of professional development
- Commit to learning about evidence informed practices and ethical and clinical guidelines
**Requirements**:
1. Educational qualifications and work experience
- A recognised Masters’ degree in Clinical Psychology from an accredited university. The programme must include a supervised practicum and supervised training in psychological assessment and intervention.
- Be eligible for registration with the Singapore Psychological Society (SPS) (Full Membership) and Singapore Register of Psychologists (SRP)
2. Experience
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant working experience as a practicing psychologist, in good professional standing
- Relevant experience and/or knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act (MCA)
- Experience in conducting clinical assessments and writing psychology or forensic reports
- Prior experience working with adults who have special needs and the elderly is an advantage
3. Other qualities
- Strong intrapersonal and interpersonal skills to engage internal and external stakeholders
- Able to work independently and collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team
- Adaptable to changing circumstances
- Resourceful, proactive, responsible and client-centric attitude
- Good report writing skills
- Able to plan, organize, execute and facilitate programmes and activities
- (preferred) Fluency in local languages
