[What the role is]
- This role formulates and reviews Personal Income Tax policies and tax rules to keep our tax system competitive, robust, progressive and fair.

[What you will be working on]
- To work with MOF and internal stakeholders from Income Tax Policy and Law Division to support the annual budget cycle, legislative amendment processes and related website updates.
- Lead 2-3 technical review projects and/or environmental scanning projects in a year; and able to recommend appropriate changes to tax law, rules and review approach to issues, taking into account policy considerations and operational concerns.
- Coordinate and provide inputs relating to budget and off-budget changes proposed by MOF as well as related legislative amendments, to ensure that the changes take into account operational needs and can be smoothly implemented.
- Advise on the approach to issue cases requiring the interpretation of law, encountered by operational teams and where needed, formulates guidance for staff in the form of Practice Notes instructions.

[What we are looking for]
- Experienced in handling complex rulings cases.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements and assess their impact on business operations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools, with the ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify compliance-related issues and develop practical solutions..
- Excellent research skills, with the ability to gather, analyze, and synthesize information from various sources to inform compliance decision-making.
- Good knowledge on Singapore's tax ruling policies and public affairs.

This role is an individual contributor.
All successful hires will be offered a 2 year contract in the first instance.
