**Position Summary**

Reporting to the Snr Manager Global IT, the role of Snr IT Engineer, Data is a member of the Data Analytics Team based in Singapore and manages ASM’s data lake and leads our data engineering practices. As a Data Engineer, you will work with various stakeholders to ensure that data in our data lake is available, accessible and secure in support of ASM’s analytics needs and digitalization journey.

**Primary Responsibilities**

The responsibilities can be grouped into two main areas:

- Setup and maintain the data lake platform enabling data teams to analyze and gain insights from data.
- Implement and maintain the underlying infrastructure and architecture for data generation, storage, and processing.

Your role would include but not limited to:

- Collaborate with data engineers, infrastructure engineers, security engineers, data analysts, data scientists, solution owners, IT architects, power users, and other stakeholders, to understand how data can be leveraged upon to meet business needs.
- Design, build, test and maintain interfaces and data pipelines for batch and real-time data processing.
- Develop and implement data models to support business requirements.
- Maintain the data catalogue.
- Optimize data storage and retrieval for performance and cost efficiency.
- Ensure data quality and integrity by implementing appropriate data validation and testing processes.
- Implement data security for the data lake.
- Automate repetitive tasks, and pro-actively drive improvements to mature the data lake.
- Handle change requests and service requests, and participate in internal projects. For instance, support machine learning efforts to improve our maintenance practices.
- Together with the senior data engineer and analytics community, further mature the data lake in ASM.
- Guide and advice various stakeholders on data engineering practices.

**Job Requirements**

**Education**

A bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer sciences or a related field, or relevant professional certification in related field.

**Experience and skills**
- Between 3 to 5 years of experience in data engineering field
- Good knowledge of SQL and at least one programming languages such as Python, Scala or Java.
- Experience with ETL/ELT, data modeling, and data warehousing concepts
- Experience in automation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of data security and compliance best practices.
- Good to have experience with Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, Azure Blob Storage and other Azure Big Data Eco-System Services.
- Knowledge on SAP BW or SAP BW 4 Hana is a plus (but not essential)
