**Roles & Responsibilities**
This is a Head of Department role reporting to the Executive Director.

You will:

- Conduct Individual (for residents under vocational training) and group psychotherapy (for residents with potential for rehabilitation) and pre/post therapy assessments.
- Conduct Psychometric assessments and reports which will include the yearly/bi-yearly Brief Psychiatric Rating Scale Assessment for different groups of residents. Updating relevant assessment scores in the nursing home system.
- Work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team including nursing, occupational and physical therapists and the counsellor for the residents’ recovery journey.
- Introduce new mental health programmes and psychological treatment plans to enhance the recovery of the residents
- Initiate or participate in Quality Improvement Projects and oversee psycho-social related projects when assigned
- Job source for residents suitable for external employment, supportive counselling for them and following up with employers on residents’ performance and behaviour in workplace.
- Facilitate and formulate Ward Therapy activities for residents in the ward and to motivate them to attend Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy.
- Formulate Behaviour Modification treatment plans with Nursing for the residents having maladaptive behaviour.
- Accompany worker residents for community outings and befriending residents to assist with their issues.
- Carry out any other ad-hoc duties that may be assigned by Management from time to time.
**Qualifications & Requirements**:

- Master of Psychology (Specialization in Clinical Psychology will be an advantage) from an established university. Applicants who do not have specialisation in Clinical Psychology will take on the post of Psychologist.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work independently in a multi-disciplinary team.
- Ability to speak a second language/dialects, to converse and liaise with non-English speaking residents will be an advantage.
- It will be an advantage if you are holding or are eligible for a valid registration, licence or practicing certificate with an established or recognized psychological professional body such as Singapore Psychological Society / Australian Psychological Society / British Psychological Society etc.
