Financial Accountant

**Primary Purpose of the Position**
- To deliver efficient, accurate and timely processing, reconciliation and reporting of all non-T&S activities, including management services

**Critical Accountabilities and Outcomes**
- **Financial Accounting and **Reporting**
- Manage the full set of accounts for the Corporate and Management Services entities for Singapore and United States and any other new entities that may be added from time to time.
- Ensure the delivery of accurate, timely and meaningful accounting reports that are in compliance with Ampol accounting policies, and relevant Singapore, Australian and United States reporting requirements.
- Ensure efficient cash management with Treasury through cash-flow forecasting.
- Perform accounting month-end closing tasks and reconciliations, including preparation of consolidated balance sheet, profit and loss and cashflow statements
- Work closely with Ampol Australia counterparts to ensure all intercompany transactions and balances are eliminated for group consolidation purpose.
- Assist in the preparation of information to various stakeholders upon request.
- **Governance**
- Liaise with external auditor on the annual statutory audit and preparation of financial statements.
- Identify, initiate, manage and/or support improvement of financial systems, processes, and reporting to meet business requirements and drive efficiencies within finance.
- Analyse new or changed business processes and determine required accounting processes, procedures and controls and implement.
- Preparation and submission of government surveys relating to responsible entities.
- **Leadership, People and **Culture**
- Build and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders across Ampol and external parties.
- Stay abreast of developments within the accounting profession.

**Qualifications**
- Tertiary qualification in Accounting
- Mandatory CA/CPA qualifications

Experience
- Similar role in a commodity trading environment
- Experience in using CTRM systems
- Minimum 4-5 years in an accounting based role in a large organisation or Chartered Accounting firm
- Experience in handling accounts related to oil trading and shipping

**Knowledge & Skills**
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Broad knowledge of Ampol Business Units and areas of operation.
- Ability to communicate across all levels in the Business.
- Willingness to take on new tasks as the company grows and evolves.
- Commitment to continuous improvement
