**A Quantity Surveyor is responsible for managing all aspects of the **contractual and financial side**of construction projects. They help ensure that building projects are **completed within budget**, meet quality standards, and comply with all relevant regulations.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Preparing **cost estimates**, budgets, and bills of quantities (BOQ)
- **Tendering**and procuring subcontractors and suppliers
- Performing **cost analysis and risk management**:

- Monitoring project **progress and costs**:

- Assessing and approving **variations and change orders**:

- Preparing and negotiating **contracts and claims**:

- Valuing completed work and arranging **payments**:

- Ensuring compliance with **legal and quality standards**:

- Preparing **final accounts**and reports

***Job Requirements**:
**Education & Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree in **Quantity Surveying**, **Civil Engineering**, **Construction Management**, or a related field
- Professional certifications (optional but preferred):
**MRICS**(Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors)
**AIQS**(Australian Institute of Quantity Surveyors)
**CIQS**, **ICE**, or equivalent bodies, depending on country

**Skills**:

- Strong **numerical and analytical skills**:

- Proficiency in **MS Excel**, **AutoCAD**, **CostX**, **Bluebeam**, or **QS software**:

- Understanding of **construction methods**and **building materials**:

- Excellent **negotiation and communication skills**:

- Attention to **detail and accuracy**:

- Time management and ability to work under pressure

**Experience**:

- 2-5 years of experience in a QS role (for mid-level)
- Knowledge of local **construction regulations**and **contract law**(e.g., FIDIC, NEC)

**Personal Traits**:

- Problem-solving mindset
- Ethical and professional conduct
- Team player with the ability to lead when needed
