Job Description Summary: As a Seller Risk Senior Underwriter, you will analyze and develop risk views of PayPal sellers leveraging your strong business and financial acumen, logical reasoning and communication skills to make clear recommendations for balanced and timely risk mitigation.

**Job Description**:
**What does the role entail?**
- Assess company credit profiles and develop views of merchant financial health and any potential risk to PayPal’s operations.
- Analyze a wide range of data including business models, credit scores, industry and peer information, products, etc.
- Estimate potential financial exposures to PayPal, assessing the need for and extent of risk mitigation measures.
- Where necessary, assess acceptable use cases, regulatory & credit card compliance, and legal considerations with respect to a seller or industry.
- Develop industry insights and propose policy guidelines where appropriate to mitigate risk and manage seller experience.
- Communicate professionally and effectively with cross-functional stakeholders on risk insights and recommendations.
- Maintain thorough, accurate documentation and audit trails of risk assessments, reports, methodologies, etc. in a timely manner.
- Monitor seller performance across portfolio segments, as needed
- Evaluate and share feedback and recommendations on data, tools, processes, and assessment methodologies for continuous improvement. Assist to develop & test solutions where suitable.
- Other opportunities & projects relevant to managing the financial risk of PayPal’s sellers.
- Have a university degree and/or professional qualification in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related fields
- Have mínimally 2-4 years of relevant experience such as credit risk assessment, financial statement analysis, financial modeling, forecasting or valuation, etc.
- Credit risk, banking, credit rating agency, equity or fixed income research profiles are preferred.
- Fluent in Japanese (both written and spoken)
- Be comfortable with data and analytics to draw meaningful insights
- Be a team player, with strong interpersonal & communication skills, both written and verbal
- Be curious and thoughtful - a proactive self-starter with a bias for action
- Knowledge of SQL is a plus.
