**Major Duties and Responsibilities**

As an invaluable, senior member of the regional Property team you will work along-side International Property & Terrorism leadership, in-country Property teams, international, regional, and in-country management teams, other lines of business, Actuarial, Claims, Engineering, Cat Management, segment leadership, etc. Responsibilities will include:

- Peer reviews, underwriting audits - together with the APAC CUO office and Property leadership, take ownership of the peer review and underwriting audit processes, ensuring successful completion of these activities.
- Underwriting authority - Hold a high-level of underwriting authority and manage the consistent delegation of underwriting authority across Asia.
- Underwriting information management - Track key performance indicators and regularly report on such findings. Use data to propose offensive / defensive actions, and to supplement account-level and portfolio-level insights and actions. Promote the importance of data and data quality across the team.
- Chief underwriting office - collaborate with global, international and regional CUO offices to ensure the success in localizing all CUO projects and initiatives.
- Portfolio management - Together with actuarial, drive the portfolio management process within Property Asia. Standardize insightful reports within individual portfolios, and develops clear, firm, and actionable outcomes to maximize margin.
- Market research and product development - work with Property leadership in analyzing new opportunities, assist in product design, governance processes and implementation.
- Treaty Reinsurance - own the process of providing and analyzing information for the renewal of the various Property treaties. Work with Ceded Re in the preparation of any Reinsurance Committee presentations required.
- Underwriting guidelines - in collaboration with regional and international Property leadership, design, create, communicate, and implement Property underwriting guidelines and directives.
- Policy wordings - work with Legal, CUO offices and Property leadership, taking responsibility for the approval process, agreement of, and drafting of new policy wordings and associated systems.
- Process and system improvement - review underwriting processes, procedures, systems, etc. and work with regional Operations and IT to deliver consistency, efficiency improvements, etc.
- Training and education - take the lead in developing and delivering relevant Property training programs to all team members. Act as a technical resource in the development of our in-country Property underwriters.

**Skills & Experience**
- Strong leadership and influencing skills, especially in matrix reporting relationships.
- Strong interpersonal skills including verbal/written communication, relationship building, building consensus and negotiation skills.
- High-level of Property product knowledge with strong technical grasp of:

- Exposure analysis
- Policy forms and coverage
- Underwriting / pricing principles and mechanics
- Legal, regulatory and compliance requirements
- Robust Asia retail property market knowledge.
- Confidence in problem solving and complex decision-making.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, working well under the pressure of deadlines.
- High portfolio management, financial and data skills combined with excellent analytical and critical-thinking skills with a thorough attention to detail.
- Ability to develop and implement strategic goals and objectives, stimulating creativity and engagement.
- Experience in working with different Reinsurance structures.
- Deep experience of underwriting, designing, and implementing multinational programs.
