We are looking for a dedicated mechanical drafter with knowledge and skills in 2D and 3D software on sheet metal. The mechanical drafter shall translate design information and specifications and create detailed technical drawings, production drawings, calculate dimensions, material requirements and describe production methods.
The mechanical drafter should display a strong grasp of mathematical concepts as well as attention to details of the assembly drawings. Moderate communication skills is required as you will be working with our project managers and production team to aid in the manufacturing process.
Job Responsibilities:
- Create and develop technical drawings, manufacturing schematics, and 2D and 3D production drawings.
- Understand various machinery and mechanical devices and decide the correct tooling to perform the necessary task.
- Collect initial drawings, calculations and design ideas from project managers and combine all relevant data into coherent and complete initial design product for review.
- Coordinate directly with project managers to understand project requirements, verify design details, and recommend modifications as needed according to company standards and best practices.
- Annotate and verify all numerical designations and specifications in technical drawings and schematics, using both 2D & 3D software and manual calculations when necessary.
- Communicate with manufacturing personnel to create detailed layouts prior to production, and assist in designing, creating, and testing.
Job skills & Qualifications:
Required:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Proficient with 2D & 3D Software
- Moderate verbal and written communication skills with project managers and manufacturing personnel
- Strong attention to details and understanding of product design and mechanical engineering principles
- Willing to learn, hardworking, dependable and ability to adapt quickly at work
- Must be able to work under pressure and ability to manage many tasks and timelines at once
Preferred:
- 2 years of relevant work experience3.
- Knowledge on sheet metal
- Experience with mechanical manufacturing process
Working Hours: 8am to 6pm
