**Job Description
TADA is seeking a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) with experience in managing large-scale consumer app operations across multiple geographies.
As the CTO of a fast-paced start-up in its growth stage, you will manage and expand a team of 30-50 on-site and virtual engineers through the next phase of growth to deliver against our product roadmap, pioneering highly-scalable and sustainable solutions that enables a positive user experience in line with our business and growth objective.
**Responsibilities**
You will work directly under the Chief Executive Officer, acting as both a technology and business expert. Responsibilities will cover:
**Strategy & Architecture**
- Making decisions on technology selection through evaluating and implementing new systems and infrastructure, including whether to “buy or build” as appropriate
- Developing solutions able to be rolled out in sprints, where each sprint builds on the success of previous sprints in an adaptable and logical manner
- Aligning and providing feedback on TADA’s product roadmap, work closely with product to decide on prioritization, resource allocation, and timelines
- Leading all aspects of the development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, strategic planning, design/architecture, execution, deployment, and maintenance to deliver a top-class user experience on TADA app
- Building quality assurance and data protection processes, ensuring all technology practices adhere to regulatory standards
- Working with lead engineers to set coding standards and conduct code reviews
- Facilitating the development and implementation of disaster recovery and security failure plans
- Formulating the long-term strategy and resource-planning for TADA’s technological development: product layout plan, roadmap for new product development, plan and formulate long-term technical architecture
- Leading technology resource planning to ensure that current resources meet the company's short and long term needs
- Working closely with sales and marketing as needed to drive new users acquisition, retention and CRM schemes
**Team Management**
- Building a technology leadership team that can expertly manage their own teams with a strong and focused culture that is responsive to the company’s needs
- Growing, developing and driving performance of the engineering team, as well as attract, retain and develop high quality talent in the company
- Recruiting exceptional talent to scale geographically dispersed, virtual engineering teams
- Providing technical thought leadership and mentoring team members to increase their expertise and understanding of best development practices
- Fostering a collaborative, positive and “can do” culture within the technical team
- Managing strategic vendor and technology partner relationships
- Communicating technology strategy to management, investors, staff, partners, customers, and stakeholders when required
**Requirements**:
- At least 10+ years’ proven experience and success as a CTO or similar leadership role in a widely-adopted consumer app company delivering technical and business strategy at advanced/strategist level
- Product-oriented mindset with an obsession in improving app performance and user experience using measurable metrics
- Excellent and adaptive leadership with the ability to influence and work collaboratively with diverse groups across different geographies and economic situations to progress common goals / strategies
- Ability to effectively communicate product architectures, design proposals and negotiate options at the most senior organizational levels within internal and external organizations
- Flexible consultative skills to handle a diverse set of activities daily and adaptable to drive ever-changing priorities
- Effective negotiation and vendor management skills
- Some level of exposure working with Korean engineers and deep knowledge of AWS infrastructure is a plus
- Bachelor's, Master's or PHD degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent
