Manager - Electrical Engineering

**_PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES _**
- Ensure efficient and effective implementation of Air Products Electrical Safe Work Practices standard, 25-010520, associated safety and training standards and any current changes to safety practices and standards in response to corporate guidelines.
- Lead Operations Technical Solutions (OTS) Electrical Engineering (EE) team to meet Industrial Gases (IG) organization expectations as expressed in performance and targets list of Operation, Maintenance, Safety and Material teams within IG. OTS EE management includes team leadership, development of resources through personnel management, technical development responsibilities, enhancement of team size to meet organization objectives.
- Manage EE team to achieve organization targets within important parameters such as personnel safety, cost effective, technical compatibility with existing work practices, long-term reliability, amongst others.
- Liaise with electrical design, construction, and commissioning teams for safe, timely and technical execution of various stages in the development of new plants including vendor qualification, preliminary design conceptual review and factory acceptance testing of new technologies or design.
- Interact with other AP regional electrical engineering managers and Electrical Engineer Leadership in Operation Excellence team for information sharing, development of new safety related work practices, sharing of electrical incidents, and any other issues to ensure consistent approach on a global basis within Air Products.
- Provide technical solutions through remote and/or on-site location support for the safe and reliable operation of electrical equipment to operation and maintenance teams.
- Provide and execute training and qualification programs of all plant-based AP operation and maintenance personnel whose duties involve handling and interrogation of electrical equipment such as medium voltage switchgear, low voltage control center and similar equipment. Training programme should lead to qualification according to AP electrical qualification standards.
- Ensure safe execution of technical changes and modification to electrical equipment and system as needed for continuous on-stream operation of process equipment and systems
- Provide technical leadership to plant management team through timely provision of information, drawings, manuals and other documentation for safe and competent repair and troubleshooting of failed electrical equipment and systems.
- Develop, manage, implement and execute plant performance enhancement projects and initiatives to improvement reliability with effective use of financial and personnel resources.
- Active participation in the equipment failure root cause investigation teams, playing a lead role to prevent non-recurrence of equipment failure in all AP plants.
- Ensure mandated electrical drawings and documents are maintained, updated and accessible at all process plants.

**_JOB REQUIREMENTS _**
- Incumbent is expected to have tertiary education at a minimum of Bachelor of Electrical Engineering with an emphasis on heavy power knowledge. Postgraduate education specialization on certain aspect of electrical engineering will be taken into consideration when it has relevance to the power electrical equipment installed at Air Products facilities. A professional engineer certificate registered with local country Professional Engineer Board is essential.
- Incumbent is expected to have a minimum of 15 years work experience in an industrial work environment with at least 5 years in a leadership position or in a long duration project management role with engineers in varying technical disciplines
- Industrial work experiences include a minimum of 5 years in either a chemical manufacturing facility, oil refinery, and steel mill. Special consideration shall be given to incumbent with design and technical specification experience of heavy power electrical equipment and electrically classified hazardous area.
- Due to the many different electrical equipment present on air separation plant and hydrogen generation sites, it is acceptable to have varying high to medium level of technical competencies in the electrical equipment installed in the ASU, coal gasification complex and hydrogen plants.
- Independent, self-driven manager / engineer capable of working in a technical matrix environment providing solutions to the engineering and projects teams, maintenance organization, plant management and Air Products organization at large.
