This position is located in Singapore and reporting to the Head, Asia Region Procurement (ARP). Procurement related to mainly Terminal contracting and agreement with 3rd party Terminals, with own CMA CGM equity Terminals and also Alliance Terminals. To be involved in procurement for Marine charges (including Tugs, Pilotage, Tally, Ship and Cargo Agents) if these are terminal associated vendors and also for leverage opportunities with the terminals involved. The role is to develop, align and implement together with Head ARP, the Procurement for terminal strategies and plans to meet the ARO (Asia Region Office) objectives and targets and same time meet the requirements of the Business. Besides the need for high energy and negotiation drive for continuous cost improvement and sustainability but also to ensure good service levels from the vendors.

Principal duties and accountabilities

Work and align with Head, ARP to understand business and all procurement requirements, workplans and targets. Weekly and periodic updates on progress.

Develop strategies, targets and implementation approaches and work together with Head ARP for continuous cost improvement and cost sustainability and same time maintain good service efficiency/levels from the vendors.

Develop and provide complete contract and cost database for good planning and analytics to enable effective data driven procurement approach. Develop and maintain a fair platform for all vendors and have complete financial evaluation of all proposals and coming up with approval proposal. Besides also to have a process to ensure compliance of award/flow share decision on vendors.

Constantly and proactively review and identify areas (review of tariffs, assessment of market, benchmarking, high frequency of cost occurrence events or cost components etc) for cost improvement and service levels (work with Ops for SLAs and also periodic vendor performance appraisals) of all vendors.

Actively involvement in yearly budgeting and also cost savings initiatives.

Develop good communication, manage relationship and teamwork both with internal and external stakeholders for the common good interest of the CMA CGM Group. Besides also to uphold a high level of code of conduct and ethics/credibility/integrity in all business dealings with vendors

Job Specifications

University Degree and/or Maritime and Logistic University education qualification.

Minimum 10 years in the shipping industry and experience in Operations/Procurement. Familiar with Terminal and Marine Charges procurement. Good knowledge of vendors in the market.

Fluent English, both written and oral

Proficient in MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint

Innovative and creative to think out of the box, process oriented and organized, aptitude in detail financial and quantitative analysis and strong negotiation skill

Good communication and Interpersonal skill and Team worker

Highest commitment and Great passion to work and drive to deliver desired results
