**JOB SCOPE**
As one of the most exciting integrated resorts in the world Marina Bay Sands’ Brand is much bigger than its advertising. In this newly created role, we are looking to develop the clarity, impact, desire & intangible meaning that the best brands in the world imbue.
The Cultural Strategist will play a pivotal role in the ‘central nervous system’ of brand direction & decision making. Working to bring the brand to life through integrated experience, programming & marketing strategies that grow our relevance across key cultural pillars, ensuring consistent end to end impact.
We are looking for a curious, driven, experienced individual in culture, brand & strategy.
**Responsibilities**:
- Responsible for driving the audience strategy, creative strategy & brand signatures across our key cultural pillars of Art, Music, F&B, Fashion, design and wellness
landscape
- Translate and synthesize cultural intelligence from vast amounts of disparate data & secondary research, succinctly crafting findings, insights, POVs into a clear cultural strategy that augments our destination brand strategy
- Develop future-forward culturally-in-sync experience & content recommendations as well as long term plans for new channels & spaces (both digital & real world)
- Catalyze every planned opportunity with insight, focus & hold the whole team accountable to the wider business & brand vision
- Be a confident ambassador of our team to senior stakeholders, capable of consulting with leaders across departments, originating ideas & bringing the wider IR along the journey
- Lead strategy briefings of our internal creative team, as well as our agency partners to ensure every brand expression is building equity with our core audiences
- Provide strategic counsel to internal stakeholders and teams, liaising regularly with
account teams to anticipate business needs and deliver added value to clients
- Act as a unifying force across the entire organization, working closely with the marketing, comms & content teams, to translate well defined plans into effective, authentic branded cultural experiences
- Be a fierce brand guardian, ensuring that MBS’ products, services, experiences and content build consistent equity in the minds of our consumer
- Continuously maintains a drive for renewal, experimentation and carefully considered risks.
Who we’re looking for:
A Cultural Strategist with either an agency or client-side background, who is innately curious, connected to the world of culture & seeking a new career opportunity to go above and beyond their current day-to-day.
An analytical and Perceptive thinker who observes thoroughly, interrogates deeply, analyses rigorously and objectively, to identify unspoken cultural norms and rules, decode meaning systems in visual and cultural worlds, as well as unravel underlying reasons and drivers of behaviour, macro phenomena & cultural shifts.
You’re someone who wants to solve complex challenges and can see the big picture for what the future can and should be, while being able to act upon that vision and drive the work forward today.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree
- At least 5-7 year’s experience within the space of cultural research, creative strategy or related field
- Is naturally curious and an avid consumer of information on many fields of culture, from tech and entertainment to music and arts. Interested in reading, watching, experiencing all they can
- A strategic & creative thinker who loves to pull together disparate thoughts, ideas, and activities and simplify towards a unique solution.
- Expertise with methodologies of cultural and trend analysis, including cultural anthropology and primary research (qualitative and quantitative) such as interviews and desk research methodologies & how it flows into a creative development process
- Is highly creative & understands how experience is evolving at the cutting edge of culture, luxury, hospitality, wellness, fashion, food, art & technology.
- Loves to instigate ideas, pitch your strategy and are an amazing storyteller who inspires others. With excellent writing, verbal communication and presentation skills
- An obsessive attention to detail when it comes to brand execution and understands the scale of operational delivery
- An ability to focus as well as multi-task, prone to see and seek solutions, not problems
- You are motivated to succeed as a team, not individual
